Anybody on this forum use a Davy driver guard?
For those that have never heard of it, it’s a little gismo that monitors all of your activities such as driving time, breaks, daily and weekly rest…
I have been using one of these for the last couple of years and yes they really do take some of the hard sums out of keeping legal - BUT…
These gadgets seem to me to have a few glitches…
How is it that after working in excess of 13 hours I can take an 11 hour daily rest?
How is it that according to this device I can reduce my weekly rest below 45 hours on 2 consecutive weeks?
When I do a split daily rest why is it that I have to take 11 hours off instead of 9?
These things are endorsed by Tachodisk, a company with a deservedly good reputation, I find it strange indeed that these glitches haven’t been corrected before they were released to the market.

Davey Driver is a member on this board though as far as I know he no longer has anything to do with the Driver Hour Guard.
I can’t answer your questions as I don’t use a Drivers Hour Guard but if you have issues with the devise you could try The Drivers Hour Guard Technical Support Forum on this board.

Split daily rest has to be at least 12 hours, at least 3 hours followed by at least 9 hours. I never had a problem with split daily rest and the hour guard.
If you mean interrupted daily rest when using a ferry, you can only interrupt a regular daily rest period of at least 11 hours, not a reduced daily rest period of 9 hours.
What is the serial number of the timer your using? (Can be found in battery compartment
or bottom corner of box it came in)
Tachodisc evaluated the timers for 2 months and never found any problems before taking them on board
so it could be yourself not using it properly
i have been after one for a week or so now and everywere is sold out, will try and get to a cdc monday,
