Would that have been “The Pipe” near one of the bridges? On street parking.
Don’t know what it was called. It was more or less on the quayside.
One of these? Google Maps
Or nearer the ferry itself? Loads of restos around that Quartier St Francois and the fish market
It wasn’t on the street, it was inside the docks, a bit like the Wheelhouse was in Dover.
Ahhh Sorry my bad.
A couple of portacabin type buildings at the edge of the truck lanes? A shortish, roundish, lady with short dark hair in there? Christine. Her sister ran the bar in the passenger terminal. Christine was employed there, but it was owned by another couple, he was a bit taller and had a beard, and his lady friend had shoulder length, very curly, hair and drove a Merc.
That sounds more like it! And yes, next to the truck lanes.![]()
I rarely went through Le Havre. I do remember eating at the Arcotel Le Havre Gonfreville l’Orcher resto once.
Yep. The Arcotel had a big (even by their standards) park. Under some power lines as I remember it. R4 had a definite whistle.
If the wind was wrong the smell from the Renault plant or the Refinery was bad though.
I had some good times in Le H, but I don’t think anyone would describe it as a lovely place in any sense of the word.
Edit to add.
Arcotel Le Havre (as was) Cormoran (as is) seems to have about 200 parking slots on the adjacent parking, from Google maps.
The Wheelhouse in Dover. Blast from the past. When I first done Euro work ,I was in awe of the drivers, the stories told in that place were amazing. Took me a while to realize most of it was bulls hit
Hey Buzzer and wrighty what do you reckon?
Oily seen a lot of prize winners sold in the last couple weeks as it is the season of fatstock shows, butchers buy the animals to promote there shops displaying the sashes and rosettes from a prize winning animal and though I dare to say it sell another four carcases implying it was from a winner, of course they deny this but it does happen. What people do not understand is the cost of feeding that animal to get it to its peak plus training it to the halter but there are examples of untrained beasts as well. Several heifers in one fatstock sale accieved good prices but were not slaughtered and went for breeding, Buzzer
These show cattle make expensive steaks, as Buzzer has said to get an animal to that condition costs a lot of money and time.
We have been busy today blood testing, dosing, bolusing, clipping their backs, injecting with Iodine and PD’ing, 41 done today and the rest tomorrow.
Cheers Wrighty.
