Evening Buzzer
Aye were still breathing as long as we keep our heads above water..! We have had quite a bit of the wet up ere and things are starting to get soggy, We had a good day at the auction on Monday when we sold our mule gimmers top pen made £260 which was good, other than that we are busy dipping and sorting Yows which are now running with the tups.
It won’t be long before we are bringing cattle in, some of the recent calvers have stayed inside but if it keeps raining the rest will have to come in. Not ideal as we haven’t done our second cut yet but it looks like the backend of next week may be fine.
The jobs busy on the driving front still getting about with machinery and straw, I haven’t been on here much lately as Trucknet has decided mi phone is out of date so i can’t look at it and when i try to upload photos on my laptop it says the file is too large, I don’t do technology at the best of times but it’s bloody frustrating…
Cheers Wrighty.
We need your pictures Wrighty so get that fixed, all busy in’t yard today got the wash gang in doing the job mob handed with Andrew & Matt supervising the operation.
Two for JD to savour !!! The B& W shot of of my Grandad Corporal Farrier on his cavalry horse “Tango” photographed in Belgium during WW1. He was a village Blacksmith all his working life firstly in a village called Capheaton in Northumberland and latterly until his retirement in the late fifties in the village of Ireby in north Cumberland. As well as being the village Blacksmith from the surrounding areas he was also a devout Christian and served as The Peoples Warden for many years at St. James C of E Church in Ireby until his passing in 1960.
The other shot is of his Grandson posing alongside a Blues & Royals sentry in London ! Note I am observing the requirement to stand clear as requested but you cant see me saying to the Trooper “Keep a hold of his “heed” Lad they can bite like a Crocodile”
