Still busy at it up ere spitting lambs out for fun at the moment, and for a change we are having a bit of decent weather which is making the job a bit easier.

Having done it on road all the way, it is indeed a lot of km.
But if you can get the correct rate, it can be cheaper, easier, and quicker to go by ferry from Genoa.
Getting the price right is not easy though.

Way back in 2020, long after I retired but still rolling the roads of Europe as a volunteer transporting dogs, I was asked to quote to collect 2 dogs from Sicily and deliver them to Perigueux. I was really sad that it was decided to send them with professionals in a large van as far as Milan, then changed to Piacenza, where I took them over.
Still enjoyed the trip and met some great company in the 3 routiers I ate in, but would really have loved to afford the longer trip.
