Actually Buzzer, my very first driving job was with a fruit and veg firm called Oberyield
who were based in Park Gate. They then became Simons and moved to St Margaret’s lane in Titchfield.
I used to drive an Albion or a Bedford TK before I had a licence…Ask Fergie. :blush: :sunglasses:

Hey Tone do you have any idea just how many different companys you have worked for ? where did you stay the longest and why ? i know it’s going to test the little grey cells but have a think and tell us all,cheers Buzzer.

Driving by the yard today with me hosses took this pick,every body back on monday for another stimulating year working the blue and whites.

I was thinking today when all the drivers i know come back in the next life as a dog what breed would they be and why,box of bonio’s and six tins of chum for the best answer,cheers Buzzer.

Smith of Maddiston…first long distance job, mainly Scottish work
Pitters…fruit mainly, bit of general
Southampton Road Transport…Montegue Myers timber and general
Henry Smithers…containers and occasional tilt work
Fred Croucher…market work with fruit and containers
Peter Green from Park Gate… manhole covers nationwide from foundry at Fareham
Wardell transport of Warrington based in Rownhams…container work and 1st two trips abroad ( non sleepers )
L and S commmercials…steel rod dels. and containers

Euro work

Eddie Huntley…Italian work
Bill Robinson…Italy
Hayes of Fareham…Spain, Portugal and Italy
British International…Spain and Portugal
R and A freight…France and Italy (cracking outfit and Brilliant boss ) :unamused: :laughing: :laughing:

Destinations…France, Benelux,Germany,Swiss, Austria, Spain, Portugal,Italy ( including Scicily and Sardinia ), Croatia and Greece.
Worked here for several stints including for Denny Belbin

Back to UK work for JTS on containers and currently been on for Goldstar last 3 years

thats right mappo, overland to split, got stuck in the bank holiday traffic in austria, i think shirley was bird spotting, but not the feathered type.
