Should those orange plates be on the truck?
Or was that pic taken on way down and not on way back?

The truck with the ADR board up is Andrew, heading south last week to Spain. Gazzer is in R44 GEL

That makes sense then, thanks.

Good Morning!

We’ve never delivered this far from home before, but time to put Transport to one side for a moment…… [emoji3531]

After 3 years of planning, and all the Covid delays that go with it, finally this Sunday at 9am I will in be taking part in the New York Marathon 2022 representing Great Ormond Street Hospital and Children’s Charity in what will be my 3rd World Major for the charity after ticking off London and Berlin in previous years !

The next step of the fundraising is to hit the £60,000 mark – and all monies raised will be going towards the Run It. Beat It. Campaign where all funds go towards the development of new children’s cancer care facilities at the Hospital. If you are able to support this wonderful cause for seriously ill children, it we be greatly appreciated by the charity !!

To help get to the target our family business Davies International Transport Ltd will match any donations made for the New York Marathon [emoji4] !!

The link for donations is: justgiving.com/fundraising/newyork2022

Wish me luck and thanks for all the support !

We were young once… lol… We used our energy to strip, unload, load and redress trailers, then had to drive on roads that were not built for 12m trailers lol.

Hi wrighty, the Iveco man in Dingwall yesterday, may have been heading for the tractor/machinery dealers on the Strathpeffer Road, Ravenhill or McLaren, dashcam so not a good photo.
Cheers
Oily

My word what a miserable wet day, not stopped to take breath at all. Well Wrighty sold me last 20 Charo’s last Saturday and was dissapointed to be honest but you cant win every race. Miss them already and on the lookout & been told by the Boss to get some more else I’ll get idle. Your cattle look in very fine fettle and bet they are glad to be inside as I suspect you are having the wet as well up your end.
Dont envy you on the truck either with this weather just makes the job harder and you tend to get wet what ever coats etc you have, clocks gone back and gets dark at 4.30 so as we always say roll on the spring, cheers Buzzer

Evening Oily

Not sure where he was heading Oily, he had probably tipped concrete so was off to load up for home. So far the Iveco seems to be reliable which is more than can be said for the dealer back up, but you get what you pay for eh…

Cheers Wrighty.

We know that feeling when stock doesn’t make the price you hoped for but there’s always another day, we have some bulls to sell in the next few weeks but were not sure how they are going to fare. With the price of fuel, feed and everything else going sky high it’s doubtful that stock prices will reflect this.
It’s definitely winter up ere now and it’s turned everywhere into a bog, the land is now sodden and will be until the spring, dark nights certainly make our lives harder on the trucks looking for remote farms in the dark is not fun…

Cheers Wrighty

Morning John

Mainly good memories working for the “canal Squadron” did 22 years for them in two stints, only left because a lot of the smaller dairies closed so the runs were to the same few destinations. That and the poor management that took over after the old guard either retired or got sickened off.

Cheers Wrighty.

Neighbours lad had a spell with Bargh and enjoyed it, steadiest job he ever had (one load daily from Ashbourne to Acton and good tackle to do it with) but then they moved the depot to the Potteries and it was too far to travel alas.

Pete.

Dean as with most other things the minute you land in the EU you start paying, not sure what it costs nowadays but when I did it years ago it was about 25% of the normal tunnel charge, I used to do loads of strip lights two pallets high and that needed an ■■■■■■ as it was over height but I used to get a bottle of whisky of the boat and when at the tunnel entrance id’e park up walk over and get the chap to turn off the height alarm and part with the bottle, always about midnight so not so much traffic about  Buzzer
