Ummmmmmmmmmm…I thought Mappo looked quite fetching in his, with matching socks and sandals…trouble is, he’s still wearing his…no one’s told him it’s 2012…
anyone remember this happening, it is in tonights southampton echo about the famous shooting on a southampton ferry. Matty Callaghan asleep in the toilet shot himself and got fined £300 and £50 costs, alot to pay back in 1981, another Mary Hopkin moment from years gone bye.
Matt was “playing” with the gun in the toilet, which was of enclosed cast steel (apart from the door) when he fired the gun and the bullet ricoched around the bog until it went thru his leg! Doh! Lucky really. I can picture the French Douane that was his mate (drinking partenaire) but can’t remember his name.
Heres one from the Wheatsheaf bash Dave Bocock getting a little bit of middle age spread there mate, also horrys head and two more reprebates from the past.

Another one from that era. Do you remember when there were 4 berth cabins for drivers, with a corridor out side, then rows of sleeper seats, then the side windows of the ship ? you’ve got the picture ? So, a driver ( who will remain nameless to protect the guilty ) is sharing with three others, gets pi**ed and staggers back to the cabin. Decides at 1.00 in the morning to then go have a shower, strips off, towel wrapped around him, showers and comes back, only to find that someone has locked him out. He’s banging and screaming for someone to let him in, and when no one does, grabs the fire axe off the wall and proceeds to chop the door down, Unfortunately while doing so his towel slips off, and sat in the seats trying to get some sleep are a party of French school kids and their teachers.
I think the headline-read something like " Mad axe man runs amok naked on school trip ferry "…good old days… 
Some of you old un’s might remember these fridges? they getting on a bit now but still work fine,if only they could talk??

That trailer on XVW looks like Griffos step frame supercube with little wheels, i hated that trailer very prone to blowots,Squibby had one to did he not, you had to go steady with them on behind you.
Hi Buzzer I think Rocky Cherrett hold the record for blowouts on a supercube step frame when on Jamesons can’t mind how many now but I will find out I think it was 9 from LeHarve to Milan and back !! I’ll find out !!

Buzzer…yes that was STS,s step frame,that pic was taken in Sardinia…do ya remember, i was there for 5 days
waiting to load ( been mentioned before )…Bloody pig to strip out that,s for sure.
You,re right in saying that Squibby had one as well…They were a challenge on Cenis cos the bumper used to ground on the steps.
As i put an old photo on of Graham, here,s one of Jim as well, with the wonderful Maureen taken at a routiers in France
when i was on for Barbours.
Hell Mappo you must have driven for everybody in your time,rolling stone springs to mind mate. Your brother Keith has the record for returning to Davies, i think he’s doing holiday releif as we speak, dont know exact count but i bet Horry does.
I guess i did do the rounds as they say Buzzer,variety is the spice of life.
