Good afternoon. Two local legends called by this afternoon. Here they are pictured shortly after being briefed and departing the yard for Italy double manned. After I took the photo, we came back to reality and they went home. Great to see you Steve after all these years. My first trip away as a nipper was with Steve, bit disappointed to see you were not wearing clogs mush.
Gary nice to see you, catch up again properly on the 26th - send a Telex to Richard when you get to Milan for more running money for Shedfield as Tim does not accept DKV or UTA.
TTFN x
Well theres a thing went to the yard today and missed the visitors but but Gary and Rocky both carryin a bit of excess weight life must be good on the IOW. Heres a pic of trevor doin an MOT wash on one of our trailers earlier in the day.

Hi Horry,
I hope you checked the family silver after those two left
Thanks I got the telex from them at the Red Funnel terminal, asking for money to bung the captain so he would take them both on the same ship
Heres a couple of pics of them, Gary partying (every night !) thanks to DKV
with another reprobate Gerbil
and the lovely Jan.
and one of Steve fiddling, sorry filling out his expenses
ops ( In your favourite yard Horry )
See you on the 26th funny both these pics were taken 26 years ago when they drove for me frightening !!
Regards
Richard
Maggie D good morning. Can I have assurance from you that GAZ IOW will be wearing that shirt on the 26th. I did try to obtain a similar shirt myself but unfortunately Fosters in Woolston closed down many years ago.
Are you sure Steve is completing his expenses in that pic? To the untrained neutral’s eye he could be writing a letter of complaint to management as the truck he is sat in does not start with an ‘S’ and finish with an ‘A’

I think you’ll find that the ‘illusion’ is merely due to camera angle JD !!!
Maggie D
26yrs eh Rich! It’s hard to believe I don’t look any different - very hard!!!
I think you’ll find that Steve was just ‘enjoying’ his weekend off after another domestic dispute with 'er indoors!!
Horry
Great to see you yesterday sorry we missed your Dad.
The shirt was down to my ex - wife you wouldn’t believe what she could do with an old curtain,
come to think of it you wouldn’t believe what she could do behind one! Usually when I was halfway across Europe!!!
As regards your disappointment at the absence of Steve’s clogs I have to tell you that they were surgically removed several years ago following an unfortunate incident involving a female cotortionist and a rather large pineapple. The Offences Against The Person Act prevents me from going into any more detail
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 26th.
Gaz
That illusion Gary must be down to the wide angle lense that was used for that pic, and by god it needed to be wide angle ! ! !

Hi Horry,
I’ll see what I can do regarding his shirt It’ll be a change as when both of them handed their expenses in every week, they would always try and have the shirt off my back !
I knew it was made out of old curtains and I kept telling him to pull himself together all he did was pull himself
or got Valerie to do it
Regarding Steve I did try and get him a SkodA truck but couldn’t find a dealer in the Southampton areA
Next time you see him get him to explain how he hurt himself climbing up the ivy at Paladini’s at Carisio, doing the Romeo and Juliet with a young lady in one of the bedrooms
Gary look forward to seeing you on the 26th do you need a lift ?
Regards
Richard

Hi Gary,
No those cans of oil Steve took with him when he was going to Prato, at night to get some sleep whilst parked in the Railway Square he would pour it on the road so the Italians who used to race round there every night on their mopeds would come to a sticky end
It was a trick he learnt from Chad off Mammoth
Then as John says he would refill them with Calvados,or Grappa which was handy if he ran out of diesel,as you could run home on it !!
See you next week
Regards
Richard
Hi Richard i have been in Prato rail station when that was goin on , A German tipped some oil on the cobbles and we wathed these poofs chasing each other round and round in fiat 500’s which he thought was hilariouse until one crashed into his motor, then he was not so pleased.I used to go to Prato quite a lot for Colin Wilks aka Hocfun with Tampax and reload Albini and pitigilani with cloth rolls, collect all day for some one else then get your papers at 10pm drive to Cluses have an hour over the wheel quick wash , steak and eggs for breakfast and straight on to the ferry, another Mary Hopkin moment.
