MappingDo you use Tapatalk to view this fine forum on your iPad?.
If not it makes it much more tablet friendly and for a couple of quid it is the best app I’ve got on mine.
Cheers

Hi Neilf, I,ve downloaded the tapatalk app and I must admit its easier getting onto the forum
but doesn,t show any photos.
Hey Buzzer and Jimmer…where,s my beans then ?
Hi Mappo you don’t eat em Tone ! Thought you were a sausage and fried egg manIi
Your Gonna have to visit Tracey Island to get em Tone !
R Jim
Tone good morning. I think you lost your beans years ago mush. Jimmer was spot on, but he forgot the Milky Way you have for pudding. Feel free to call in at Tracy Island for Runners, we have a three-phase plug-in facility here for the fridges so recharging your ■■■ will not be a problem whilst on a 45 minute break. See you in a couple of weeks - don’t forget your compartment wallet with chain attachment for Sunday 26th ■■
E,re we go again aye, pack it in you two…what are you trying to say ■■
As it happens Horry, I,ve still got my old multi compartment wallet, which in its day was a
sensible necessity with all the currencies we carried while tramping round Europe…
I guess they must be redundant now with the Euro, unless travelling further afield I guess.
Anyway gotta go now for my ’ full english’
Hi Tone i was thinking of you yesterday when looking at another thread and there it was, a scanny 111 off Arfer Gween from bratford do you remember how we used to recite there drivers comentating on the course of there weeks work in a broad yorkshire drawl,God we must have been board.Hearing Horry talkin about your multi compartment wallet reminded me of Phil Grant, he always tucked his wallet in the frount of his jeans and said if any body is quick enough to grab my balls they can have the wallet, another Mary Hopkin moment mate.
Yeh Buzzer, I remember well our conversations in a broad Yorkshire accent, (much to Jills bemusement )round your breakfast table after shipping in.
It was law in those days and compulsory to see ’ the boss’ and be force fed the biggest and best breakfast
On the planet.
Definitely a M-H moment…those were the days
Hi All I heard Tone that your multi compartment wallet got more storage space than your new Volva !
Here we go again Sorry Tone ! Bet Trunkers gonna have some thing to say about this!!
R Jim
I have been reading this site as well!!! its as good as long departed, talk about “Band of brothers”■■ yes jimmski i can see my warning has fell on deaf ears!!!as its said to me at times, its not funny, your not cleaver, and why do you do it,!!! no wonder the man stops out all week!!! mick, trunker.
Buzzer:
Horry text me today and said we had a visitor at the yard, none other than Jimski called in while passing for a cot and a chat.He call’s our yard " Tracy Island " for some reason.
Hi Jim,
Congratulations on getting your new job as undercover VOSA inspector, did you tell Horry ?
His legs look like they ought to have a prohibition, and are they short longs or long shorts ?
See you both at the bash.
Tony,
That wallet has it still got the French sou’s,Roman coins, and German marks with Adolf’s head on them, and the signed photo from Edith Piaf “No regrets love Edith” that you’ve had since you started international work ? Don’t forget to bring it on the 26th
and bring the T shirt with “Franco fixed it for me”
Regards
Richard
MaggieD…Hi Richard, Jimmer certainly looks the part dont he.
As for Horrys legs, well they definitely need covering up.
Regarding my wallet mate, I,ve never heard of those currencies you mentioned
I,m not as old I look, I,ve just had a hard life ( too many years working for Buzzer )
Oh and also a spell for ahem… Another International Soton haulier of repute.
My wallet does actually still contain some old centimes,a couple of 50 lira coins,
10 pesetas, a few escudos and some dracma.
I reckon if Charlie brings his jar of coins as well, we could buy a packet of crisps to share
out at the bash.

Hang on a minute Mappo, on the Davies Int. thread you stated you left us for pastures greener and then realized the error of your ways. The difference being in times gone by the working environment was more relaxed, the trouble being you old boys just did not realize it at the time, i’me sure Richard will agree we used to make all your working lives pleasurable and you have us to thank for that.
As for not looking your age you are completely wrong, you look every bit as old as you are,and as for the coins if you wuz as shrewd as me instead of sitting in a bar on your trips abroad you should have followed my lead and sat in your cab with a roll of selotape putting those 50lira coins in heaps of ten and making little bundles of them. (this used to make the payage mushes go mad) but was an excelent way of getting rid of them. By the way those coins you still got did’nt escape from Denny Belbins travell sweet tins did they ?
Every time you have woe to spread you bring in poor old Charlie, whats he done to annoy you, leave him in piece to enjoy his hard earned retirement.
I can’t deny and I,m sure all the old hands will agree with me, that back in the day
The job was indeed a pleasure to do ( most of the time ) although bloody hard work as well.
As has been said before numerous times I,m sure we,d all do it again if we could turn back the clock.
As for my age/looks Buzzer, you obviously saw me last time on a bad day.
Whatever you do, don’t tell Denny I,ve nicked his loose change.
As for Charlie, I,m sure he doesn,t mind being ‘a good old boy’.
Mappo: I think your dam young kooking for your age (If I knew your age that is),and as for hard work, the only hard thing I remember is in Torquemada, one afternoon and it became hard after leaving the b um Restaurant, now I know you do remember that!!!
Buzzer: you are quite right when you say that you don’t know what you had till its gone, and to reiterate what the boys say I think a load of us would go back to those days…
Right I’m off to work…Bugger!!..
