hi buzzer, do you top up with rainwater or mains ?
Hi mate there is a rain water collection system of a small barn roof connected to three big round storage tanks about 6000ltrs each, they are inter connected so fill up over the winter which is plumbed in on a ball ■■■■ but I have a second big water trough which I fill up every third day from the mains at home else the store tanks would run dry especially if the weather is hot like last year when it never rained for three months, Buzzer
thanks for that, i watch a farmer who does u/tube and breeds dexters and says his cattle prefer the rainwater…

Bit of tidying up today with the topper making ready for training the steers on the marsh to come to the bag for food. Sunday we mustered a dozen souls to help get the seven Simmy steers out of ground they were not supposed to be in, not easy as most helping have no experience with cattle but we managed it driving them under the rail tunnel and in with the Charolais boys on the marsh so 21 down there now. There is a purpose built coral there but we will extend it as its ok for 14 but not 21, I feed them for three weeks or so by the gate then move the troughs into the coral to get them used to going in, then on D day we shut them in to trailer them home. Later we checked on the 14 in the park and all looks well with still plenty of bottom grass to be had mainly due to a bit of rain we have had, cheers Buzzer.

South Uist Outer Hebrides and one man went to mow a meadow which from the distance looks like a Massey Ferguson 35 though I am not that well genned up on types . Second pic a pair on the Isle of Berneray Outer Hebrides, the islanders take great pride in keeping older machinery in working order.

That’s a good price for that Limi more like they should be, we went to a Limi dispersal sale last Friday and bought an 11 month old heifer for 2k. She has a different bloodline than our own so we will see if we can breed a bull off her, we are showing our two heifers this Saturday at our local Wensleydale show near Leyburn so we shall see how we get on…
Up in Dundee tonight tipping in Aberdeen in the morning then off for straw, so could be a late finish back home to do second cut silage on Thursday…
Cheers Wrighty.
Hey up Wrighty your right about the price on that steer but good for the owner should see him a tidy return, see you busy with the straw but a bit hit and miss with the weather lately. My mate is yet to finish his hay but should this week as its a bit better weather wise, he is also baling and carting straw at the same time. Just ordered some rolled barley and beef nuts as soon I will have to bag train the steers ready for when they have to come in, cheers Buzzer.
Looks like BIRKENHEAD WOODSIDE.
