Davies Int. Southampton. With photos (Part 1)

Hi all, Just been out for a walk up over the M27 there was a few Spanish reg frigo’s coming out of Portsmouth obviously come off the ferry would not wanting to be down there at the moment though. Speaking to a mate of mine that ship’s out every week through Pompey he said it’s not been too bad the last couple of week’s except for the Covid test being a pain, But apparently next week the French custom’s are going to up there game so that could cause a few problem’s. :sunglasses:

Kev I hear you say Frogs upping the game WTF have seen that all before, they are bar stewards from the off and bet those Spanish drivers never had to prove they had a covid19 test either when landing in Pompey but the Frogs will catch em on the flip journey with a bit of luck, we are bonkers in this country make em all have a test, Buzzer.

No you are right John no test coming into UK hauler’s are except. Where do your boy’s have to go for a test do they have to pay for it. :sunglasses:

Kev you can get tested in alot of the service areas now, Rownhams North if your coming from the West & Sutton Scotney coming down the A34 so not too far out your way, JD

So any of your boy’s would have to go to Rownham’s to get a test before going to Pompey so it all adds time an money on the job. :sunglasses:

We are thinking of getting Trevor in the warehouse trained up, he is Roger’s brother so we can do it in house but we have not told him yet or the drivers :open_mouth:

Snapper are you bored. Nice looking fleet. :sunglasses:

You do keep the fleet looking good.

How many motor’s are you running now Buzzer ?

I expect there are a few old companies you will recognise in this article.

Click on page twice to read.

Just seen this. Better get your rate’s up Buzzer. :sunglasses:

Already there Kev, spoke to Horry yesterday and as said before we got two loads back from a job we used to do and lost by a rate cutting company using cheap Flip Flop drivers. The rate was greatly enhanced and we have a clause £500 a day by paperwork delays and just as well as Andrew was at the stinky express for 24hrs yesterday with Mat not far behind. No one will touch fish at all as they know what the bar stewards are going to do, until they realise there is a shortage and there Industry starts to suffer there wont be an end to it, if you think back its a bit like when they did away with permits no one could quite believe all that time we used to waste in custom clearance, the only sad thing is that our Government are not doing the same to incoming trucks they should put the hammer down this side as well and punish them like they are doing to us, in the end companies just wont bother to do International, feel a company name change on the way, Davies not going OUT,OUT. But joking aside its not funny any more and also Holland, Germany & Spain have said we cannot claim any VAT back as of 01/01/21 we will be having tank shines in a minute, this country needs to reciprocate and PDQ.

And I saw a Brit driver had his Ham samidges conviscated at the Dutch border, thought they would be more concerned with Covid but oh no. Buzzer

It will be OK once Mr Macron get’s told to play nice and the European’s realize there are shortage’s and a price rise in there shop’s. :sunglasses:

Apparently Kev since the EU signed a trade deal with China there has been alot more interest in Frexit, lets hope so JD.

Hi all, Buzzer if the EU did a trade deal with China doe’s that mean they will get free trade on the next Virus they let go. :sunglasses:

Well done Klondike, made it into Italy, Buzzer.

An operational question(s) for you Buzzer:

1: Are Docs needed for exports to EU & imports to UK Digital??

2: If so would it make sense for shipments beyond France (or other landing country) to use TIR
then clear at an inland clearance depot in consignee country. Then if any problem with Docs
e-mail them through once rectified ■■

2a: When the main courier services are restored to the EU, use TIR then clear at an inland clearance depot in consignee country.
Then if any problem with Docs courier them once rectified ■■

3: If Docs still need to be on paper can drivers be equipped with the correct paper and then print the Docs
when problems are sorted. ■■

4: Issue drivers with PCs loaded with the relevant software + a range of papers & any other tools needed to produce
convincing docs - rather like the John Bull printing kits used on the ME run in the 70s :unamused: :unamused:

Bit of light hearted fun ! :unamused: Apparently Le Frogs are trying to impose a ban on the use of the English language in favour of using French and German on alternate days for all future EU business ! But they are hitting problems as English is the first language of Ireland & Malta and then in various degrees English is the chosen second language of most of the other EU members !! :sunglasses: The Frog hierarchy are going absolutely “Ape ■■■■” about it but I guess they are ■■■■■■■ into the wind if they believe they can alter the EU status quo ! Now I wonder what language Nicola would want to use if Scotland was ever to become independent ? The Gaelic presumably but then again where she was born and bred ( Irvine) English was the language so apart from the fact that She doesn’t speak the Scots native craic She will be ■■■■■■ again !    Cheers Bewick.
