Just bought the yard Dean and they have extended the contract maintenance for year 8 but they dont look that old, also waiting to see what transpires about Brexit, Scania are keen to keep us on board and they are handy being only the other side of the roundabout and in walking distance so wont be till late next year before ought gets sorted.

Makes sense chap and they still look very good, and with Scania being that close thats very handy.
Into its eighth year on the road and still looks the bizz & getting near that Chris Rea moment, Buzzer
Well what a year we have just had especially dealing with covid19 restrictions, it put great demand on distribution companies trying to keep the super markets shelves full due to panic buying in the extreme, its been good for us at DIT having one of the best years in nye on 50 of trading within the transport world and the crowning glory was the purchase completion of our operating facility on the Segensworth Industrial Estate affectionally known as “Tracy Island” is now our permanent base for the future years.
On the farming front we had a nice Summer and got on with making haylage for the winter months, cattle came and went but still got 14 in the barn at the moment and think they are glad of that as lately hardly a day goes by with out it raining. My mate came and cut me hedges yesterday so they look tidy, it did mark the ground a little but the tyre’s are so big now it seems to spread the weight and not do so much damage as a narrow wheel.
We look forward to 2021 but have some reservations as to actually what effect the Brexit outcome will have on us in the business world, all I know is the EU still want to trade with us so why make it so bloody difficult. As for them and us we still have to recuperate from the damage caused by the pandemic a huge cost to all that will take years to fully recover.
Well known as a bit of a Humbug that aside I would like to wish seasons greetings from all at DIT to all of you who either contribute or follow this thread, it is a wonderful way to look at the past and to also see what’s going on in the present day, thanks especially to Wrighty for his regular input with pictures of his exploits on the farm & also his road adventures a nice mix indeed.
Lets GEL on into 2021 and hope for better things to come, thanks all Buzzer.
and all the same back at you buzzer, as far as brexit dont worry mate we’re british and have overcome far worse…
Evening Buzzer
Well we had four busy days this week, ran upto Dundee on Sunday tipped Dundee Monday morning, ran up to Turiff loaded straw and then tipped near Sellafield on Monday night. Loaded Workington Tues morning then ran down to Neath and tipped, then over to Cardiff docks and loaded rebar for Alloa.
Ran home on Wednesday swapped trailers then ran down to Glasson dock and tipped a muckspreader bound for the IOM and then home. Now home paddling about knee deep in Z/B in the bog that is known as Wensleydale, there dosen’t appear to be any let up in the rain as I’m typing this the wind and rain are beating on the windows…
Ah well thats enough twining for one night, would just like to wish you and everyone at DIT a very merry Christmas and a prosperous new year. Next year may be tricky but there’s no doubt that your lads will navigate a path through all the extra paperwork, and lets hope Snapper keeps us entertained with his photo’s of his far flung trips…
All the best for 2021
Wrighty.

Victors was a magnet for Brit drivers who had one too many drinks and they want to fight , I see from Buzzers photo , that the hotel and other restaurant next door may have not been built, or it’s hidden from view ?
And let’s not forget the premises for gentleman’s evening entertainment .There was a cracking restaurant by the fuel station, owned by a Galician family, amazing homemade food , casserole and stew or fish soup .
Victors had the potato and meat soup , but the guy behind the bar , Simon , with a beard , was a grumpy git that never smiled .
If you crossed the pedestrian bridge, a short walk away was a medieval village, nice views there with the snow on the mountains in the far distance.
The big hotel had a bath tubs for anyone to use for a few Pesatas, ideal if you’re night heater packed up , the rooms had drivers discount and I would have a room in the summer for the air con or in the winter as a treat away from the cab ratting for months on end .
Carol was the manager there , or was it Cheryl ?

Hi Dean this John Deere tractor will have to be looked after well as when we come out of the EU the British farmers wont be getting all those subsidies they have enjoyed over the years, weather the UK government has a replacement programme no one is sure, personally I dont agree with subsidies for farming as when you look at it what other business’s get this level of support, Buzzer.
Here go Buzzer:
Subsidies are to be paid, but decreasing with time, and hopefully more targeted. Not just bungs for the richest.

Like any plans time will test it.
