Back in the day those Bibendium Michelin men were normally fixed to the wing mirror arm and usually only one, on another note I hated windscreens full of flags and furry toys and was known for making drivers remove them, also number plates with there names on we had there name in a small transfer near the door handle much as today, cheers JD.

Morning Buzzer. I have heard from a reliable source that back

In the day you were a very hard taskmaster. According to Mappo

you were always shouting at him. Is this why he’s now deaf. I do find

this hard to believe as I’ve always found you to be a kind generous gentleman.

I do agree about the flags and furries. How did they manage to see out of the windscreen

I don’t know. Hope all is well with you. Regards Charlie

Buzzer:
Hi Dean as with most auctions you can put a reserve on cattle but not normal unless its pedigree stock like well bred cows or bulls.

Took this off FB but still looks the muts nuts, it worked when we restored it and always got a lot of attention where ever it went all over Europe earning its corn, VTA came from Cornwall off a young scrap dealer and boy was he hard to have a deal with but we got there in the end, my advice buy one that’s already preserved as the money can run away with you and is not cheap to do, think the guy who owns this now has more of the same so good on him, Cheers Buzzer.

Lets hope they reach good money then chap !

The old 88 still looks sweet.

Buzzer, how did the auction go ? :unamused:

How many cattle does that leave you with now.

Good morning everyone. I have a small question concerning livestock.

Since my wife and myself separated I’ve been a bit lonely so I’ve decided to

get a pet. I’ve thought about a Vietnamese pot bellied pig. I know I only live

in a one bedroom flat but there is plenty of room. I was telling.Mappo about

This and he tried to put me off saying what about the smell and filth?

Do you think that the pig will get used to it? Answers gratefully received.

Regards Charlie

Dean took 12 steers down Thursday after the TB test and they were overnighted in the market along with about three hundred others bearing in mind 1200 in the sale, then the other 12 we took down Friday morning, bit of a long wait for mine to go through about half two and was not that good a sale for me but that’s how auctions go but anyways they have gone and I don’t have to feed them any more. Not sure what to do with me 27 younger ones just yet but a bit of time to make me mind up but will report later, just waiting for the cheque to come now and off to the bank, cheers Buzzer.

Thanks for the advice Buzzer. The only thing that worries me is the lady at 73 is over 90 years old. Is she a bit too young for me.I don’t want to be accused of being a cradle snatcher! Regards Charlie

We did a lot with PJK in years gone by, where is Mr K now anyone know ? Buzzer.

Nice pic Buzzer, sorry to hear they did not make top money ! Lets hope the 27 left make better
money when you decide to sell them.

Evening Buzzer

That’s the trouble with auctions if you hit it on a bad day, but hopefully next time you’ll have a flying trade. We had four in Leyburn on Friday and for us the trade was alright, but we tend to take 3 or 4 to a sale so over the year our trade averages out…still they could always make more…
Busy day today left the yard tipped at Stonehouse, then across to Dundonald and the the long trek around to Campbeltown with a plough, parked up tonight near Luss then off to Newhouse to load in the morning…

Cheers Wrighty.

Pups are cute Wrighty and your right about auctions ,going Thursday with six Charolais X & 5 Lim X to Shaftsbury Candlemas sale so hope for better results there Buzzer.

Buzzer
I think Paul Kingsley was around the Marbella / Gibralter area a couple of years ago

Shaftsbury Market to day with 11 more steers in the Candlemas sale and my god was it cold in that place, cant even bring myself to talk about the trade today so I wont, onwards and upwards as they say and a good job I am not relying on it for me bread and butter, Buzzer.

My sense of humour that is, Buzzer.

Surely that should be “CHINS UP” as in the plural. Lip up fatty…

BUZZER I like it "pancake day"it should read “if you have a double chin double pancake.”.i have been keeping a weather eye out on your posts no complaints at all just as i have been busy-ish doing [zb]all.

KEVIN FURY now there is one good guy ,if it is the same kevin that worked at “pulleyns” i seem to remember that he was getting his own truck, must have been middle 1980s i never set eyes on him once after he left.id get some turkeys instead of them old store beasts .

i am more or less going to restart my driving history on trucknet as i have it all ready written, but as for printing as a book i have given up on the idea ,to much messing about ,editing,to be honest,i have found on here whatever you write no one starts saying ,you should have done this or that, some of our more learned trucknet authors, ex drivers probably did better than me at school some maybe grammar school…me, secondary modern,38 in a class i was mostly 36th,but good at gardening ,milk monitor ,wood work, and star A+ messing about, smoking professionally at 14,butcher boy, before school ,dinnertime, and delivering when finished ,yes on the old bike with the small wheel and basket on the front.also a paper round at 6.30 pm northampton echo…work was my education, then went to the university of life merchant seaman yes at 16 Birkenhead ,so yes ,my english is crap, but well travelled

however i am waiting for the nod to see if i can cut and paste instead of rewriting it direct in the post a reply, im wondering if any other members have cut and pasted written text on here as a true story ,i am sure Buzzer will not mind if anyone replies using this site/posts/whatever. tks dbp

PDB me and school never really hit it off either just wanted to be on our farm doing what ever was needed, played truant in the later years as much as we could get away with but killed, gutted and skinned rabbits for the school they used them in domestic science but only did it when we had a double science lesson that was part of the deal.
Loads of people have said to me you should write a book but there would be so much to include and as we get older we forget half what actually happened, should have done it as we went along but as they say hindsight is a wonderful thing, cheers Buzzer.
