Just on another note as most who view this thread like a little frivolity this is a picture of me doing my cycling proficiency test in the New Forest last week, passed with flying colours but me legs ached a bit the next couple of days, Buzzer.
Buzzer you shouldn’t be doing that, there’s not enough straps on that load.
Buzzer:
Wrighty you never told us if you made your hay or weather you wrapped it up as haylage, suspect Alice had to deal with that as you are so busy on the truck. My merc goes for test next Wednesday so hoping for no problems there, cheers Buzzer.
Afternoon Buzzer
We wrapped it up as silage as there was no chance of more than two days without rain sat here typing this and it’s raining again, did some sheeps feet this morning and footbathed them while it was fairly dry and been busy moving calf creep feeders this afternoon.
Also mowing down at Redmire this afternoon with a view to picking it up tomorrow if it stays dry so we will see, times getting on now for making hay with the days shortening and quite a heavy dew in the mornings.
Would slipping Baldrick a few sovs in a brown envelope help to improve the weather? were fast running out of alternatives up ere!
Cheers Wrighty.
Well “snapper” Morrison kept this secret, getting hitched up today after a reasonably long trial period to make sure he was in the right job, cheers Buzzer.

I sometimes feel it’s a shame we don’t have a ‘like’ button on Trucknet. I don’t know ‘Snapper’ except as someone who contributes to this thread with interesting photos of where he is. He doesn’t know me except for an occasional comment on here. I’m delighted to say congratulations!
John.
Nice one Buzzer.
To Mr and Mrs Morrison.
All he very best

John you are so right about “snapper”, we all plied the roads of the UK & Europe and maybe took the odd photo’s but Andrew is a sort of modern Paul Gee and look how much memory jerking and shear pleasure that thread is giving us all at present with the help of DEANB. We never really thought about when we got older and no longer did the job although my two boys are carrying on the business I started all those years ago and which I am glad not to be in nowadays (too much red tape) but is nice to see modern day updates of places I went during my driving life so keep on snapping Andrew as we all like to be kept up to date, thanks & cheers Buzzer.

Looks like you were struggling a bit there John, A Tandem cycle would have had more pulling power,
especially if you had Mappo on the back seat, bit of ballast, less wheelspin !! . For reversing it would
need to be a fixed wheel bicycle. Regards, Ray Smyth.

Yes… But that was a Electric bike…
Busy this week got calves up from field for a TB test, part one was Tuesday then the rerun on Friday. Had to treat them for a tad of ringworm which is a mix up and spray job, hate it and never had it here before but it does not effect the cattle much and usually when they are out on grass and the sun gets to work on it it clears up but not much heat down here at the moment for that to happen. Also me Merc in for MOT and that’s got more wrong with it than I thought but have sold me New Holland tractor and that’s about the roundup on the homestead this week, Buzzer.
Hi Buzzer and wrighty, doubt if they would get turned away on a hay cutting day eh .

Hi all,
Had a great sighting this afternoon of R44 GEL in sunny salford near the quays, great to see so local to me and was very resplendent indeed (to those in the know!). I have a feeling it was heading to Morrisons?
I’ll have my camera ready next time!
Thanks harryvr6
Evening Buzzer
A nice change this week taking panels up into the highlands, now back home for three days of farming looking like some silage bailing tomorrow…
Cheers Wrighty.
Today we did the rerun for the TB test & all clear so to market on Tuesday they go. But what a ball ache the rest of the day, took my Merc truck into Scania for MOT ON Tuesday they gave me a detailed list of what needed doing and it came to a whopping £1800 well after I got back up and decided to carry on the test booked for Wednesday, that came but VOSA tester did not nor Thursday, now this is well out of order as these truck dealers have to spend about 250K putting in all the test gear then get let down by the testers then you got a situation of backups on MOT’s. Anyways they tell me it is all work done so I can have it back to use to go to market Tuesday then they will test it in the two days after that as it runs out at end of the month, so I collect get home then I get a phone call to tell me all work is not complete so can I get it back to them toot sweet, well not happy chappie by now and no one wants the blame, J.Arther’s the lot of them, onwards & upwards Buzzer.

Good morning John,
That great picture was taken about Agios Veasileios looking towards the Rio-Antirrio bridge.
Must have been on his way back from Athens to ship out of Patras. Did in once in a truck and also in a car, lovely place, lovely people. Harvey

As we say up this part of the world Buzzer it sounds like you have had your “Ears pinned back” and I thought you were a “sharp lad”
But it’s only money and you can’t take it with you ! just accept the fact that their need is greater than yours Chap !! Cheers Dennis.
