Buzzer:
Well today me, able body and twin heart attack returned to the marsh to see if we could spot the loan steer, all were laid down chewing there cuds so just me went up to them as they know me, counted five times and all 20 back together, no sign of re entry as we checked all fences and looked for fresh foot prints but no evidence but pleased it was resolved as it was fair peeing down.
The morphine is as much use as a NSU Quickly up the blanc and had no sleep at all last night and the pain has not eased at all so not looking forward to tonight. On another note saw this and had to share with you all, cheers Buzzer.
Spot on about Corbyn Buzzer !! However I think your explanation about the missing/returned steer is defo a bit suspect as it had probably not “gone astray” as we say up this part of the world I reckon you should have sat down and taken off your boots and socks and then you could have made the count to 20 !
Cheers Dennis.

Dennis not so easy this week to remove socks or any clothing come to that and I have to wear those horrible white stretchy leggings to stop you having a blood clots and I have to have assistance in all dressing and showering from my nurse who is of course me Mrs, what would we do wi out em eh. did manage to tie me own laces today so going in the right direction but not allowed to drive yet but can operate my little Avant loader as this is foot control hydrostatic and a joy stick for me right hand so this I can manage, onwards and upwards but nex week physio starts, cheers Buzzer.
BY the way that steer found his own way back and we cant see how he did it.
I’m pleased to hear your on the mend Buzzer and you’ll soon be back “in harness” I trust so all the best mate! But this tall tale of yours about the disappearing/reappearing steer is a real tale for telling ! It’s taking the ■■■■ and if it is so clever at letting itself in and out of the field you ant it should be on Britain’s Got Talent eh! or an act in Chipperfields Circus
Cheers Dennis.
A tractor now and again for sons of the soil .
Oily
Better day here than yesterday as the breeze has dropped a tad and was quite warm, very noticeable how things have taken off now we have had a bit of rain both in the veg plot and with the grass. This afternoon me and the boss weeded two lines of beetroot which was hard to spot but them weeds came out easy as the soil is now damp, then we littered up the calves who are devouring about 3/4 of a ton of 18% nuts a week, they are on barley straw at the moment but I am going to offer them some haylage as from tomorrow. After that we checked the cattle on the marsh but the grass down there although growing is a long way behind as we aint allowed to fertilize that and after our roast lamb dinner I walked me other grass which is so long now its hard to get through and I took a picture of “Woody” sitting in it to give you all some idea, should cut it really as the countryfile forecast is pretty good all week but we shall see, Buzzer.
HI BUZZER,I do hope your recovery is as swift as your heifers return, you should call him "dynamo"i have been looking in from the side lines when i got a mo, i will report all is well ,the posts are good and interesting in fact, forget the lorries it has nearly all be done ,your agricultural posts with all the others are spot on and what a “cracking job” you have got wrighty. who remembers loading straw bales with a pitch fork[i do ]but i could not lift hay bales.[at 15 years old] but still had to sledge them ,behind a bloody mad tractor driver, health and safety where were you, lol.
It shows how much the agricultural life has now relied on transport,[specialised] who would have thought that ,i know old tractors and farm machinery has had a market abroad but for only a few. thanks for the entertainment buzzer ,peggydeckboy.
Evening Buzzer
You’re a bit further ahead down there, we have only just emptied our meadows put the fertilizer on and I’ve spent mi weekend chain harrowing. We have now got a few cows and calves out and some heifers but we have about run out of silage so the rest will follow shortly, got the lawns mown tonight so now sat here relaxing with a can of ale and mi dog aye what a life eh…
Back to work tomorrow, a load of concrete panels down near Blackpool and then collect a tractor afterwards…
Cheers Wrighty.

Ah the ‘quickly’. It wasn’t, was it! Desperate as I was for any sort of internal combustion engined transport at age 16, an NSU Quickly was not an option!
On my 16th birthday, 4th April 1964, I borrowed the Puch Cheetah that my Dad had bought my brother, stuck the L plates on and went for a ride - 6.30am. I couldn’t wait!
That bike took me and bro all over. Me to Scotland, him to the south coast. Over100 miles to the gallon IIRC. And that was at 3 and 9 a gallon… Plus a couple of squirts of 2 stroke oil.
John.
Happy Days,
John

TIDDERSON what a great picture, now thinking about it my dad had a 1500 bird battery hen set up and he had a woman who used to come on her NSU Quickly to pick up and pack the eggs and she nearly always had a rollup in her gob but on that speedy machine she never got any ash blowback in her eye’s, Mary Hopkin moment cheers Buzzer
What sort of time scale have they given you Buzzer before you will be back to normal ? I would imagine it
will be a fairly long process unfortunately ? The reason i say that is that my mum broke her shoulder back in
January and shes still not right !

DEANB reckon 1 month in a sling then another couple months after if all goes to plan but nothing is sure, all I know is that it gave me bad grief for ths first 3 days and could not lie in bed and tried sleeping in an arm chair but just ended up knackered, onwards and upwards is the way cheers Buzzer.

You dont realise how useless you become until something likes this happens.
