Hi Richard.
You know far too much for your own good. It has come to me from my extensive reserch that you have connections with organisations in another country. Of course my description of tyre cutting and yours are slightly different. I shall attempt to upload a pic of my latest scooter. Please feel free to visit anytime. Love to Angie.

It forecast rain for today so a bit of forward thinking got some Damsons out the freezer last night as when its peeing down outside you just as well make some more jam, lost two pots to egg customers but one did give me a pound towards the cost, in the end we have only had a couple of light showers but more jam in store, soon be on pickling the shallots so I suspect Charlie will be rattling my cage to cadge some.
On the Agricultural front I have had a call from a contractor to say he can come Thursday to direct drill some rye grass seed into permanent pasture grass, this saves all the hassle of ploughing up etc so got on the internet to buy some seed, got a shock at what it costs though but will be interesting to see how that goes as I have not had it done before. will try and remember to take some pictures.
One of the anniversary gifts we had was a pair of mugs and the writing on them says it all, cheers Buzzer.

John all the best to you & the Boss, my Mum & Dad’s 60th last week all 4 kids & Wives/Husbands & 4 Grandkids had a family day out in Swanage where we had all our Summer Holidays.
Sister did a cake with the wedding photo on it , Mum put the Knife straight thru Dad’s face which we thought was a nice touch lol?
Happy Anniversary to both Couples

Badger that’s a good long time together for your mum and dad, not sure if we will make that landmark.
Today did turn out to be wet, had the vet to do horses teeth and jabs at 10.30 and as it were ■■■■■■■ down decided on making more jam, this time strawberry 2/3rds and goose gogs 1/3 started with 15lb of fruit and added two kilo’s of sugar so you can see how much water evaporates in the process.
Last night checked cattle and have been bag training these steers into the coral and they sure know what’s coming and were at the gate to greet me, you have to be care full or they would knock you over but beats chasing them round a field when you want to move them. Buzzer

Hi Buzzer,
You got some good looking cattle there,I rent some space on a farm to keep empty skips on and he has about 250+ head of Herefords all well looked after,we all know where they end up but it is nice to see them well looked after, used to do a lot of deliveries to farms and some of the conditions they where kept in was terrible, up to their bellies in ■■■■■■ please keep posting pictures of your horses as well…sod the lorries!! Thank You Pete

Happy Anniversary Both.

I had no idea Gill was only 10 when you married her John.

Jeremy.
I remember meeting your Ma and Pa a couple of times when returning your unit to Romsey. They have both survived well. Your Dad looks younger than me
I seem to remember your Dad had a nice old Merc. A 220SE or similar?

Hope all good with you.
Cheers,
Baldrick.

Jeremy,

Please pass on Angie and my good wishes to your Mum & Dad, Baldrick is right Dad does look younger than him !!

Regards
Richard

There is something I like about you Richard, but I’ve totally forgotten what it was… :unamused:

Well back to Agricultural today had this guy come and direct drill some ryegrass into my permanent pasture, hopefully a boost to the grass without all the hassle of ploughing up the ground and all that goes with it, cost £150 folding for the operation which is cheap when you look at the cost of the equipment being used here. Just git to harrow and then roll in tomorrow to finish the job then just got to get the hedges cut.
Wrighty you been quiet on here is every thing ok, what you been up to, cheers Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer

Been busy up ere mainly sheltering from the bloody wind and rain…!, just had a couple of days off so back to it tomorrow tip Leeds at 8.15 so will have to be out of mi pit sharpish.
Looks an impressive bit of kit the direct drilling outfit will be interesting to see how it works, we’ve some land of ours that could benefit from the same treatment.
It’s that time of year again getting tups ready for the sales, four to get ready for Middleton in Teesdale on the 5th of October so we will see how we get on…

Cheers Wrighty.

I’ve always fancied having a old tractor. I’ve moved a few and loaded a few onto trucks we’ve exported. In the Caribbean they like masseys and I’d buy a nice 299 4wd if one came along for the right money. Thought that needed sharing. Dougie

If you fancy an old Nuffield DM4 my friend has just put one on “farmers free ads” on face book Dougie,. £1000. cheers Buzzer.

Buzzer i like the idea of just drilling in the rye grass, what does the rye actual do ,? and as for rolling it out, i hope you have not borrowed the local cricket ground roller, you will need your best boots on and maybe a harness pulling a roller up and down,or maybe use one of your ponies and use the trotting seat with a roller between the wheels…As for agriculture in Crete the only thing green is the tops of palm trees ,but the butchers shops had some good looking meat, mostly pork and fowl.and goatie-lamb.the red meat was not your usaual beef looking cuts very light coloured,me thinks HORSE,and the fat did not look a nice yellow ie tinge…pdb.

Oop’s double post.

Buzzy day harrowed the seed in then rolled which takes longer, always was told crazy man to harrow lazy man to roll when a nipper. looks a little rough but not bad when I finished and after the rain that’s coming it will look good and its got all winter to recover.
As you can see the air conditioning is working fine on the old 590 but haven’t had a chance to put the door back on yet, took it off when it wuzz hot.
And for all you followers of the blue and whites here is a shot of the yard tonight all having time off, cheers Buzzer.

Well out of the day to day now have been for some time, now run by my two sons who were brought up in the industry, could not handle the hassle of todays rules and regulations that they have to put up with when I fell out with a driver I told them to ■■■■ off and they did but that was then and a lot simpler. Yes I still get a buzz when I see one of ours trundling along a motorway and think to myself I started that but even though things were hard back then I would not have swopped what I did for anything else like many of us on these threads.
So much has changed over the years when I used to buy a five year old truck that some one else had the best out of and did it up a bit and put it to work, nowadays with money so cheap you just buy new and get going, nice as them Scania’s are I could not drive one of them as they aint got a gearstick. My own horsebox/livestock scanny I love, ex Fagan & Whaley it’s a 2000 model is a peach to drive, Buzzer

Spotted ‘R77’ in the week on the A26 in France heading south. ‘R22’ same place the week before.

Going back some here, love the two tone blue and red chassis still, Buzzer.
