Mount that lot on his chariot and ship him out, he might do a few reports from Brussels while he’s at it too.
BUZZER,BEWICK we could start our own political party," " could be for the old drivers…,the very nearly normal drivers,…the i now it all drivers… ,the honestly guv it was not me drivers…,the what! fiddle drivers,…the, i did not say that drivers…the back stabbing drivers…the tom pepper drivers…the, that will do for me drivers [my category], the im not doing that drivers…The whole range of men come on this site Buzzer and also yours BEWICK,haa i did love the old pies,ei,ei,ohh.
Saviem ,yes you are so right ,as for where produce comes from the general population has no idea, never has, also they are not interested, they call it trade ?only us men and ladies, who have some connection in to transport of all kinds, ours being trucks [lorries] it gives["gave]"a understanding of where produce come from and how the growing seasons we new of old, did [does] not mater one dot. and the movement of fresh produce is not in the general public’s heads at all… maybe if the tele adverts starting saying look folks 75% of the fresh food you eat does not come from the supermarkets allotments ,its all imported and not in season, in our old England,or GB.
Having lots of time on my hands now i do all the food shopping, two reasons [1] i like it ,[2] the wife does not…when the supermarkets get on there tannoy system, and give the offers out , would love to say, by the way folks, everything in the fresh veg isle is imported ,only the SWEDES come from Cornwall[,NO sonny, not the people] num nuts,…as for the milk Buzzer and Bewick will corner the market soon, as they are the only ones with a pony and traps…,WRIGHTY will have to double up with the sludge[muck spraying tanker, in between making siledge to bring milk down to us [black market] siphoned from a lay by ,and bring down that molasses, buzzer can help with process and stick the odd gosebeery in,as a bonus. and sell it as mar mite ,no one will know…

Perhaps it should be Boris as and Nigel Farage as joint PM’s forget the political party system do away with that and lets get on. All the other leaders in the EU are now stating that if we want to trade with them we still have to have an open door for migrant workers and shirkers, don’t agree with that because that was probably the biggest reason most voted OUT so that wont go down well, I would go back and tell them to stuff all there Mercs and V dubs and Skoda’s for a start and when they have to lay off thousands of workers we will see who wants to trade with who.
PDB we are both really too old to worry about all these affairs as what will be will be, see you had a blast on The EU thread you really got to watch your blood pressure mate.
Talking to an old friend today and she said there are a load of Brits trying to leave for Canada and New Zealand so they don’t see much future staying here, far too many infriltrater’s already in this country, shutting the stable door and all that.
We give PTM some of our overload as it happens and so if they need an internal wash on trailers we do that for them but think old “snapper” pushes the boundry there, when he worked for us he did not care for the old naghty 'o’clock hour’s but see he is doing dare devil dark driving for PTM, how thing’s change eh, take it easy PDB cheers Buzzer.Hi all sorry John think you should check with boys I would & did on many occasions work some funny nocturnal hours & liked to wash my own truck n trl even in my own time & I used to get grief off the other drivers for it too but didnt care as I have pride in whatever I drive!!!
Sorry if I’ve pushed the boundaries on wash won’t bother asking again thanks!!!
Regards Andrew0
F==k me Andrew don’t take much to rattle your cage, this as I think you know is only a bit of banter with no malice attached, no one ever said you never had pride in the motor you drove and as for the over kill on night driving may have you got mixed up with Roger, in fact I think his is the truck with the head lights removed. Maybe you should chill a little, hope you are making a list of all these restaurants you are frequenting so you can write a directory of EU dining in your spare time, cheers Buzzer.
"Headlights removed"Buzzer you are in the premiership, best yet…

Is this your motor Buzzer? Pic off e-bay
Yes Pete it is indeed my motor, hell I am now famous and did not realize it. May have been an undercover detective working for my Mrs and he has caught me buying cows and calves with no authority what so ever, the old Scania does not look out of place and not dated at all as she is 16 years old and drives like a dream, in fact I would rather drive her than me car, thanks for alerting me to that cheers Buzzer.

Right Buzzer 1st Question Where do you want it. 2nd Question is your barn big enough as there is another 8 loads in transit !
Dennis.

Very tidy motor Buzzer but then they always are when you drive them yourself and pay the bills !! Who built the body for you and what length is it ? Cheers Dennis.
This was the last box I had before I packed up harness racing it had a 24ft Parkhouse flat with a lift off Parkhouse container. It was their standard build but a couple of foot higher for horses and I had it kitted out with either 6 herring bone standings alternatively with two stalls facing forward and then three breast bars if I was only hauling one horse the box also had a side loading ramp on the N/s. I fancied a Scania at the time but the IVECO was £ 10,000 cheaper chassis cab and it never did much mileage and never had a proper load on it’s back so it did a good job at the right money. Cheers Dennis.
Dennis the Scania is ex Fagan & Whaley and had been looked after well, when I bought it I never even went and looked at it as it was to high up the country for me Preston and me alti meter was bust, it was an Irishman selling it to boot but the box was built by Tristar near Lampeter who I have known for some years now as I sold him some of his first carriage horses, Gwynne Williams is the boss and he had bought motors from the same man and said he would look it over before paying for it on my behalf which he did , it was a high tautliner and originally I was just going to have sides filled in and tailboard fitted but it was nine and a half feet high. After discussion with Daniel who is Gwynne’s son we decided to strip that down and build a lift off box so it can be put on a more modern chassis later on, it is 26ft long and 8ft 6ins high so I can load a coach and still take four horses, we designed the gates inside between us and they are universal for horses and cattle being full height and width and can be position any where on a rail at 3 inch intervals, it has a winch up front with remote control so you can load on your own and also a rubber floor. When you start building bespoke gear just how you want it sometimes the cost runs away with it, but if you do it right in the first place and it works well some one else will always want it when you have finished with it.
As for the straw mate I have done my fair share of that but today is different, all big bales and they get the weight on easy and all done by machines not like the old days. Straw I buy on a as I need it basis just 6 miles from my place and usually get four big rounds at a time.
Parkhouse has a good reputation and they have been at it for years, when some one says that name you know what you are going to get, will keep the old Scania till I lose me HGV as I have to have an annual MOT at the Doc’s every year now, fingers crossed as that is coming up soon cheers Buzzer.
Buzzer, seeing that this thread has now become the Agricultural and Equine one and the Country is currently remembering WW1 I thought I would put this shot on of my maternal Grandfather, Farrier Corporal Dickinson Oliver of the 1st/1st Northumberland Hussars, the photo was taken in Belgium circa 1916/17. His horse was called Tango and apparently this was taken for the regimental records prior to all their horses being shipped out to Palastine as the cavalry were virtually useless in the mud ! I recall showing this shot to my Blacksmith, and good pal, Frank Taylor and he commented " Now that’s an old fashioned sort of a horse" ! My Grandfather was a village Blacksmith all his working life retiring in the mid 50’s. Cheers Dennis.
Dennis being a blacksmith back in the day was hard work not just shoeing horses but mending all sorts of farm machinery as well and making gate hinges and the like, today they call themselves farriers and only shoe horses but hard old job and hard on there backs.
Wrighty I am ready now for the off for haylage making but we keep on having the rain so on hold at the moment, went to a farm on Thirsday and got two more pedigree Lim cows and calves so that’s my quota filled now got to my ten in numbers, it was near Mere in Wiltshire but he was a Yorkshire man and by god hard to have a deal with but we agreed terms in the end and he is delivering them subject to TB testing next week and that will save me a day when you work it out and I don’t have to wash the truck out.
Any news on your missing dogs, have they returned yet ? cant imagine what that’s like waiting and wondering, bit like all of us really not knowing which lying MP we will have leading us forward.
Off to Dorset tomorrow on an organised drive with the horses at a friends place with a hog roast after so hoping the weather stays fair but taking all the wet gear just in case, cheers Buzzer.
Afternoon Buzzer
Spotted a blue+white this morning R 1 GEL, overtook him going through the road works on the M6 j20-19 looking as clean as ever. A bit of good news for us this afternoon Snook our Jack Russell was spotted in the nearby village of Hardraw, Alice picked her up about an hour ago, and Pepsi was also seen but as yet she has not being found.
It confirms our suspicions that they had been caught and held captive for 11days without food and then dumped this morning, if they had got themselves there they would have found their own way home. There’s some right ■■■■■■■■ about who would do this and there may well be repercussions, apologies for the language but it’s been a very worrying time for Alice and myself.
Dennis is the farrier Frank Taylor the one from the Green smithy at Bentham…?
Cheers Wrighty.
Yes Wrighty it was Frank Taylor from Green Smithy he passed away a couple of years ago, Frank and his family and Anne and I have been close friends for nearly 40 years now I first came into contact with him when I had just started in Harness racing and one of my horses My Birthday was cross firing badly and my vet advised me to take him to Green Smithy as there was a Blacksmith there who would defo sort him out, and he did and then from that day on there was only man touched our horses feet and that was Frank who I can say was one of the best farriers in the UK during his time. Our horses feet were always admired by “them that knows”. One thing, I never questioned him, I can recall buying some fancy Swedish shoes once and proudly showed them to Frank, he had a look and handed them back saying " I’s not going to fit them so please thee sel" ! I eventually gave them to a lad from Lancaster (called Lancaster) long after I’d finished and he thought they were great you would have thought I’d given him the crown jewels ! Franks son is Tom Taylor who has Taylor ATV you may deal with him as he has the Honda agency in Hawes and another one near York. Oh! and Anne and I had a chat with Stuart when we were at Appleby on Whit Monday. Cheers Dennis.
Dennis & Wrighty what a very small world it is you two both knowing some one and brought together by internet wonderful.
Wrighty good news about your dog hope you and Alice get tutheren back as well, dam near as bad as losing a child is losing a dog even if only temporary some say losing the dog is worse, mate I would be the same as you if I found out who done it the heartless ■■■■■■■■ want stringing up in a gibbet cage and leaving.
We just had a cloud burst here by god you would think it twer winter out wind blowin an all, bet you glad you got at least some of your haylage done eh, Cheers Buzzer.
You’re right there Buzzer not a lot seems to be going right at the moment, dogs missing t’old man in hospital, but a least we made some nice silage and then covered the land with muck just in time for it to rain.
Hopefully the weather will pick in time for the 5th July mowing date, the interlude as allowed us to get the baler and wrapper serviced.
We used to buy most of our machinery from Clapham agricultural services (ih dealers) until they shut up shop in the late 80’s, by that time Robert Taylor and sons had become Case Ih dealers with the merger of IH and David Brown so we started dealing with them. Tom Taylor was a mechanic at the time flying about in a Citroen service van, he then left to start up Taylor atv which as you said Dennis operates branches at Hawes and York.
We do deal with the Hawes branch purchasing a new quad earlier this year, and as I returned home on Wednesday for my days off I promptly reversed into the said quad with my car… The quad won.
Cheers Wrighty.
Good evening all brilliant reading wrighty so pleased about the old jacks,i hope the tuther one is ok and found, well today has been a bit of a special day that turned out ■■■■ up .wel as i does .it is my wifes 70th today so for a surprise i arranged for a lunch for 10 people F—K ME SHE ONLY WENT AND GOT SICK,not her fault "ladies things "AS WELL AS A MIGRAINE SO BASICALLY DAY F-----D.

This story now is 100% true, i kow no one knows me, i could be a alien, or even normal. after driving nearly all my life… well he happens to be a sub contract carpenter with a partner, and they are do very well thank you very much ,after years of hard work ,“just like us old drivers”, however they have a large contract ,in OXFORD,AND WINCHESTER they are in Milton keynes
The main money earner is work in the University’s and wait for it MOSICS the security is horrendous you do as they say it is all planned some times they have to go off site if certain “people” arrive with their full security ,tooled up,yes they are armed, yes i know ■■■■■■■■ you will say but it is true…it is ongoing work however again it is getting the local or not so local fully apprenticed carpenters ,not “your 1 year in prison” course, proper men with the proper papers to work, virtually impossible…so now the ■■■■■■■ is, LITHUANIANS GOD FORBID,they cannot get English ,British,IRISH, TO work and be reliable, why ,they do not exist ,because hardly any apprentices were trained years before and now , the price is being paid ,[[before any smart arse comments just read on]…Theses guys from Lithuania are very well trained and have the right papers if they were us my son would kick them off straight away ,but no they fill the requirement, they pay their tax it gets stopped at source, but the best is yet to come, they work in Winchester and they travel from, east LONDON every day never late 5 days a week, guess what there wages are, this is true£180 PER DAY YES SIT BACK, PER DAY, THEY EARN IT AND ARE WORTH IT …HOWEVER MOST OF THAT GOES OUT OF THE COUNTRY , THEY ARE 100%LEGAL HERE no way would he employ them if not they have no choice they cannot get the men …to take a apprentice on this year will cost a employer 25%of there earnings paid to the construction industry training board, now you tell me and he voted to stay in EUROPE…HE TOLD ME 90%OF BUILDING SITES IN London ARE ALL FOREIGN WORKERS
i have not written this for a debate or about the ifs, whys and where -for,s i just thought you might like to know, and i will not get involved in any ifs and whys only banter…pdb
