Should call the Bull that as there would not be any Bullying with him, if he said out that’s what it would be head down and push, Buzzer.
Was digging out some ragwort and this group got inquisitive, Buzzer
Evening Buzzer
Those calves are looking well certainly look to be thriving, weathers a bit mixed up ere at the moment so no more silaging for a bit.
Moods a bit glum at home two Jack russells still missing , went last Monday night so been gone a week and as each day passes there return seems less likely but we still live in hope…
Cheers Wrighty.
Wrighty hope your dogs do come home when something like that happens you just cant get it out of your thoughts. Down here it would probably be dog nappers then they wait for a reward notice in the local paper and try and get it, had a friend lost a boxer dog like that so she agreed to pay £50 reward but her brother went with her and gave the fella a bloody good hiding and never handed over the money either.
The weather is a bit hit and miss here also but I cant cut till the 1st of July anyway, just been and had a look at the grass and this rain we have had has made it spirt on, cant wait to get on with it now and get it done, I know its only 9 acres so need to get it right.
Bought three pedigree cows and calves on Saturday in Exeter at a Lim do only seven units up for grabs but nearly bought a couple in calver’s but they made more money than than the cows and calves. Then bid on two pedigree South Devon cows with month old steer calves but they went over K2 at the end of the day, cheers Buzzer.
You must be amassing a fair herd now Buzzer, what number are you looking to get to.?
Some of our land is in a stewardship scheme and that can’t be cut until the seventh of July, it is good news the out vote but how do you think us farmers are going to fair with Boris in charge…

That land I have is under SSI so that’s why the 1st of July is D day think later for next two years.
Got eight cows and calves at the moment but really ten is my max number so really would like to find just a couple more, really got in to these Lims at the moment but two of mine are Sim x Lim but are good solid cows, like a bigger cow as I do think they have a better time at calving as they have bigger bearings.
There was a sale in Llandovery last week which I was going to go too with lots of Lims but just as well I did not as they averaged well over two grand per outfit for the really good stock and that is a tad too much for me. Got to join the Limousin society now to transfer my pedigree ones I bought on Saturday.
Did vote OUT but I don’t get any form of subsidies as too small an outfit but IMHO but I do not agree with farmers getting any form of help with payments, the people of this country should have to pay a fair price for the food produced here then there would be no need for payments, I suspect you have a different view to me especially where you farm as it is harder than most places. The super markets do not help as they press suppliers very hard and it is a take it or leave it scenario with them, they should be controlled more just like when we had the Milk Marketing board at least it was a fair system.
When you look at farming it is a way of life for many who really do not know any other way to make a living so they just struggle on, think it would be different in France if they lost there subsidies all hell would break loose but when they revolt at least they all stick together and that has never happened here, cheers Buzzer.
HI BUZZER and all down at the farm yard ,well, buzzer them, there, calfs look really interested in something a bit to young for bully but you know theses youngsters these days especially from Devon…why do people put a special date of when you can cut /mow…and wrighty i do hope the dogs come back, are they chipped?pinching dogs is as bad a rustling sheep or cattle the ■■■■■■■■ want there hands chopping them old Arabs got something right if caught stealing …
.mind you i would be hand less by now, us old drivers were a little bit light fingered, never ever took any diesel from any company, but the odd box of fruit etc ,do you know how to take a full layer out of a box of apples,… and you can not tell when open the box that any is missing…
,im talking the carbord boxes ,with the papermacha trays holding the apples… you turned the box upside down and you pull the base box out of the top ,that just shows the tray you pulled the tray out, then the apples that were sitting in it, then put the bottom back inside the top, and the air presser keeps the apples steady, turn the box right way up .open the correct way as the boxes said TOP and then OPEN the apples are still at the top where you would have thought they would have dropped one layer they did not,
job done is called" MILKING" WRIGHTY DID YOU GET IT .The market traders thought they were clever, they used to take fruit out of every box no matter what, that would be one mans job all night, out of say 10 pallets of cherries, or strawberries =maybe 100 plus boxes lots to go at, they would end up with prob 50 + boxes of the fruit, so never think you are getting the full boxes of anything…anything loose was fair game ,but the cracker was we had been at it before them…so if the end customer weighed his brought boxes ,they would be in the wrong… glad i do not do the markets now .it was like a university learner something every night…
PDB that crack was also in Southampton docks when we loaded fruit, went to old Spitalfields market once with a load of outspan oranges 1200 boxes and had delivered there at the same place a week earlier, they said they had hell as the warehouse cat had driven them mad and then they could smell it. The frozen beef steak was unloaded at the same berth and some one had erfed out the oranges put in loads of steak then a layer of oranges to cover but the checker must have been on his metal and the box ended up on my pallet instead of the intended recipient but of course it thawed out and went off, caused a bit of mayhem but as you said it all went on back then especially them night men at the markets slippery buggers they were, Buzzer.

I totally agree with you Buzzer we would be better off without any subsidies and then food would find it’s true value, it makes me laugh when I hear people banging on about the recession we’ve just been through the same people who go to work and walk past a toaster and a kettle and then go to McDonalds for their breakfast.
We will know when we are in a real recession when the first McDonalds closes down…
Hi all, popped into Tracy island the other week kindly let me use wash so rude not to take a pic although no Davies trucks in also met woody as well lol also I’ve been listening to the Archers for over 20 years although catch up via podcasts these days lol
Regards Andrew
FOOTBALL,REFERENDUM,Now a “welsh” boyo, man putting up for Daves job to run the “English” Parliament CLYDE-■■■■■■ SPY ,Good picture of the Iceland trucks obviously the driver came from nowhere near ICELAND"!!
Buzzer i do not know but i would have thought P.T.M.were rivals of your company for work …Nice to see that Andrew has not got lost in the depths of the EU.looks like a Volvo is it.? I wonder if he has been down mossy country, and lost his swatch/switch/egg flipper.
Buzzer, start getting some flat belly tanks welded under the trailers ,for when the dipping starts again…or in the roof.new designs will be needed.or in the roof cab space so CABS look like a space cab and are not,but diesel in/on the roof…?.has anyone got a MICROSOFT OFFICE WORD ,2007 BOOK,for sale reason=i have written 90.000 words, nearing completion but i need to edit it pro ply and do all kinds of stuff to it but i cannot because i do not know what half the stuff in the tool bars do in editing .so i need instructions from the book. just a off chance .thanks sorry for hijacking buzzer.pdb.
Perhaps it should be Boris as and Nigel Farage as joint PM’s forget the political party system do away with that and lets get on. All the other leaders in the EU are now stating that if we want to trade with them we still have to have an open door for migrant workers and shirkers, don’t agree with that because that was probably the biggest reason most voted OUT so that wont go down well, I would go back and tell them to stuff all there Mercs and V dubs and Skoda’s for a start and when they have to lay off thousands of workers we will see who wants to trade with who.
PDB we are both really too old to worry about all these affairs as what will be will be, see you had a blast on The EU thread you really got to watch your blood pressure mate.
Talking to an old friend today and she said there are a load of Brits trying to leave for Canada and New Zealand so they don’t see much future staying here, far too many infriltrater’s already in this country, shutting the stable door and all that.
We give PTM some of our overload as it happens and so if they need an internal wash on trailers we do that for them but think old “snapper” pushes the boundry there, when he worked for us he did not care for the old naghty 'o’clock hour’s but see he is doing dare devil dark driving for PTM, how thing’s change eh, take it easy PDB cheers Buzzer.
Ha buzzer that is the price Andrew had to pay, maybe he knew… what was it grass =greener,… i did it some many times but 9 out of 10 times i went back some company 3 times …as for the eu thing i like a wind up/and say what i think .Funnny enough i have been on blood pressure tabs for nigh on 36 years now im 72 .overweight for a start.put on a1000 kalores a day diet it was just rye bread, and bits, no bee,r no salt, no sugar, no frys no butter, no fats,i still do not take salt or sugar beer yes…but it worked i was told i would not see 40 if i did not do it…i was 36…then i got into European at that age on some firms i was the oldest.but showed them the way…yes i like the dare. devil.dark. driving. haha us fridge men were masters of it…you will have to read my book.pdb

Evening all,
You know, I so enjoy this thread…farming…lorries…politics…
First, if we , (as Farmers), were not paid NOT to farm, then we could feed the nation…and beyond…
But as" outers"…do not expect the rules to change…particularly the enviromental ones, (that is a wrapper, that legitimises all the obscure angles of the tree huggers reasoning)…how can you argue against it?..well if you can try…then see where you get with the “thinking” consumer at the supermarket checkout!
Tesco should be on the rails with their “manufactured” local farming brands…but no one is intelligent to realise that the headline name is purely a “brand”…not a producer…
My pal next door runs a beautiful dairy heard, 300 plus, production cost per litre is 27 pence, sale price via, (German), Muller 18 pence…on ASDAs shelf 53 pence…WAKE UP YOU THICK MORONS!..Who is making the profit…
And my Pal is almost suicidal that no one can see what is happening…the thick UK consumer is only used to seeing the product on the shelf…not the schnenagins that take place behind the scenes…just have a look at French or German Dairy Farming…its a blooming subsidised, poor animal husbandry joke…why does not anyone here realise…or expose it for what it is■■?
Pork from Denmark…ye Gods…what a total subsidised industry…and pure “factory farming”…yet our consumers buy it in vast volumes…WAKE UP…ever seen Pigs on crates■■?..NO of course not…too upsetting…rather buy cellophane wrapped red Pork…
The EU stops exports of Cerials to Russia…but the bit that gets through…German…French…The UK…well “we have stopped exporting…for ethical reasons”…BARSTEWARDS…and where were our Political “negotiators”?..inept…unaware…just plain stupid…(at the least)…
In the UK we have the best Farmers in the World…the best Agri-Science…the best marketeers…yet we allow all this to be dumbed down…by the Politicians…by the Retailers…the major Supermarkets only ■■■■ after maximising returns for their shareholders…(so bugger what is good for the consumer/producer.)…
Passion, I feel it, to see what you have sown grow, to nuture, to care, to harvest…then to be told that as some half wit in eastern Europe can produce twice as much for half the cost…and believe me Gentlemen…one third of the quality…and its sold on to the “Great British Housewife”…makes my blood boil…
Ever wondered where the Cancers come from that decimate our loved ones?
Irresponsible chemical sprays…
Hormone growth injections into beasts…
Poor husbandry…
Support British Farming…and pray that as we divorce from the European Union…we can maintain our farming standards…and lift production to where it should be…
You may well pay more…but if you have a brain in your head…realise what quality you are getting my friends…
(And please do not start me on transport related matters)…
Cheerio for now.
Budget milk costs are subsidised by milk carried in across Europe…my goodness how many trillions of gallons each week…
