Ah yes Buzzer…i remember it well the Bridge road cafe.
Excellent grub with a friendly service and good company and a bottomless tea pot…proper tea as well
no tea bags there i recall…happy days indeed.
Horry…alright mate, i hold my hands up, you,ve still got it after all… lol
Tony when I first went to live in “Thorndale” Bridge Road there was a little café where the Chinese place is now, it was a wooden shack in those far of days and run by a couple of old ladies who lived in one of the bungalows just across the road. When they retired they pulled it down and built the brick chinky. Don’t know if you remember I used to park just this side of the bridge when I only had one truck 40 years ago that was, sometimes Dave Chivers parked there too with his D series Ford and boat trailer, later he sold all his permits and hence the beginning of Chivers European which was financed by Anna Banana as we used to call her, company name Italfrutta and her sons also had a company called Arrigonfrutta run by Frank and Steve Guest, hence that’s when we used to load out of “Pirotecknicks” real name Pirechini Secondo’s place. Always good loading there first thing in the morning and the fruit chilled overnight, not like many others who loaded at nine at night and the frigo revving it’s nuts of all night, and then called that one of the three days allowed to get it home, MH moment’s them cheers Buzzer.
DeanB Think I accidentally wiped of your PM please send again. I know the person you mentioned back in the da and this would be interesting cheers Buzzer.
