Andrew as for your comment “you cant take it with you” I would just like to point it out that when I retired I gave the company to the boys which they deserved and worked hard for, now in turn they are giving it back to the drivers which they also deserve for loyal and committed service to the company (there are exceptions of course). So all in all what goes round comes round, its a win win situation all round JD.
Bullitt as for you and the daily mail we all know you can’t believe every thing you read in the paper, so just to enlighten you we only deliver the tooth picks and tea bags and maybe a few other essentials, cheers Buzzer.
While we are at it, one more shot of VTA 872 S side view blowing a little blue smoke maybe she wont be so much money, and you could buy her back for me Andrew.

John what was the history of the F88 VTA it has a devon reg and I think the Volvo dealers at that time would have been Stuart Commercials at Exeter , just interested to know any more info would be appreciated thanks Dennis

Hi Dennis some one told me way back it was bought new by a Devon company to pull a low loader cant recall the name though, I bought it of a young chap from Cornwall who ran a scrap yard and he drove up here for me to view the deal being if it was as good as he said I would try and by it if not I would fill his tank for the return journey. After a lot of haggling and paying up he went home on the train. We bought another old F88 for parts and with a lot of help from Princes Commercials staff got her up and running, then we added a granning rear lift at Andover Trailers and got her painted, we ran it in the fleet doing both UK and European work. It was sold on to Mr Perris who worked for a Newbury outfit as an OD, he then had health problems and sold it on but I don’t know history after that. As announced on here it was sold before auction on Saturday to a private buyer, Buzzer.
John thanks for the info on VTA could only think of 1 guy that would run that with a low loader . Could of belonged to Wally Balsdon he runs some quite heavy stuff and plant transport near Exeter .
The garden is looking well , how long are you going to keep the sucklers on for autumn sales or longer ? are you running the scania horsebox yet or is it still in bodyshops .
great to see photos of the blue and whites the boys have been doing you proud . cheers dennis

Top photo there Dean B. F725 came from Peter Gilder via Germany we had another E42 OAD. Steve ‘Rocky’ Cherrett drove her for a long while with his furry clogs during it’s service with us
mappo:
Your memory is failing you at last Horry…i also drove E42 OAD.
Cant remember if it was before or after Steve.
Tony you may be right about Horry and his memory, why only the other day he was talking about when his mother ran a café on Bridge road at Bursledon. He could not remember the bloke who used to come in for a roast dinner on a fairly regular basis and how he and ■■■■■■ always used to loose a roast spud off there plates to go on your’s, of course I know it was you and you always sneaked off without paying. When you going to settle up the bill ? JD.
No flies on my memory TIR!!
I was referring to F725 with Steve. Of course you had
E42 among others, A lad from Birmingham called Paul had her,
so did Mark Earle, Jock being the longest Pilot in it.
He drove it when he left FT for Buzzer to which he drove
an ex Christiansen grey and red 112 from Denmark
E156 OAD, had a horrible alarm immobiliser on
It always went off when you opened the passenger door
It had a Phaeng sticker on the offside front
mudguard. FT bought it off Ian Elkins and sold it
to Tony Barnard K&AK Freight who did a bit for
Eurohaul…
