Wish you all the very best Horry. I’m sure you have been in serious training. Re the agricultural postings. I have cancelled my subscription to Commercial Motor and now am taking the Farmer and Stockbreeder. Only joking Buzzer. Regards Charlie
Good on you Charlie as ur in the countryside you need to keep up to speed, had a chap cut me hedges today as the ground has dried a lot this last week good job neat and tidy and no cleaning up with those flail jobbies had to get it done now else the twitchers start moaning. Cleaning cattle shed out tomorrow if all goes to plan so kept busy, got some seed spuds to chuck in as well cheers Buzzer.

That’s what I like about you Richard. You were a lousy boss but always had a great joke on your lips. You would tell me a funny and while I was laughing you would give me the paperwork for a rotten job. Only kidding. Love to Angela. Regards Charlie

Me in my youth 1975 working for Noyce Brothers of West Tytherly and now we are fast forward fourty years does not seem possible. Mandator in the picture was only one year old and was a repossession after its owner got nabbed nicking 20 ton of copper pipe and had a holiday courtesy of HMG, was painted in Noyce green later on, Buzzer.
morning JD… Just browsing and catching up. You look on fine form in that pic, what’s the bandage? Had you been self harming?
You mention the Noyce Brothers… When I was working for Cabmont in about '77 I think, there was a Dave Noyce on there AKA " the onion " he used to drive a Daf 2800 YAA 74R.
Would that be one of the brothers?
Anyway hope all is good. I’m living in Ireland now, on a farm … Mostly cattle ( Herefords ) am sure Charlie will be interested as he’s an avid follower of all things agricultural
All the best Balders.

Thank you so much Richard and Angela for your kind donation, yep will let you know how it goes.
Please try and keep a lid on Marathons. Last time Mappo had half a Marathon, he shipped out for Mick Hayes in it. (With V8 Sandals)thanks again, see you soon, H ■■

Hi Balders in Ireland eh ! are you on your own or do you have a travelling bag with you ? what you doing on a farm did not know you were into that, at least you did not go to Wales as we all know what they get up to in there spare time. As for Dave Noyce not the same family but I remember him, they had some weird tractor units Fodens and the like and Franky Allens creations out of old rigid tippers turned into units, me I had a Mandator GOW 78L of course no sleeper cab going over the water just a board across the engine and a piece of foam for comfort and home made curtains made out of an old bed spread (now we are in Mary Hopkins territory) all part of the training which led me on to greater things in the International global conglomerate I created and left to my able bodied sons to carry on the tradition. (wow bit over the top that last sentence) any ways bye for now Buzzer.
ha! Love that conglomerate bit! yep got my travelling bag … Actually my feeonsee now don’t you know.
Am in Inchigeela County Cork. Which is the arse end of nowhere , lovely countryside and top fishing. Rains all the time obviously. You don’t get grass that green without it as you well know… The farm is 156 acres and we’re renting the old farmhouse whilst our Landlord and farmer Mr Cornellius Alouicius O’ Sullivan lives in the new one he built just up the road…what a character he is! I only understand about 2 words in 10. He’s a bit ■■■■■■ off at the mo as Mr Foxy took a couple of lambs last night.
Anyway…, yes I remember the old Mandators well. Many a night a kip in one of those. I tilted the cab on one once…on For FH and the mattress I had stuffed in the back fell forward. Somehow when I let the cab down the mattress forced the windscreen out…oops. Had to drive it back from Amiens wearing goggles.
So what happened to GOW then?
Hi Balders don’t know the demise of GOW but do have a lasting memory of my first trip in her (listen up TIR original) along with Scory P and Mr Baily from Warminster all loaded with synthetic rubber for Amiens. Being in my infancy of International trucking if you could call PBC European that, set sail from Poole which never made any sense to me or any one else if you were bound for Amiens (why not Le Havre) but derv was cheap and old wise fox Franky Allen had a load of money invested in Truckline in its infancy might explain that one. Any ways of we went on the old RN 13 up and down those big dippers out of Cherbourge stopping for the evening meal on our way to tip, I remember it was a timbered restaurant and very pleasant and the owner was obviously used to my two compatriots calling in for vitals, well pastis for an aperitiffe then wine with dinner then Scory P introduced me to Calvados or more to the point café/calva after numerous rounds of this evil spirit it was time to bed down for the night so back to me non sleeper Mandator and after much struggle got the board across the engine foam in place curtains drawn and after a fashion in to the sleeping bag, I was lying up hill as we were parked on the sideof the main road which dropped away to a ditch, now this was fine but I made one fatal mistake which was I never locked the door snoring away no trouble sleeping with an overdose of calvados, Am arrived the my mistake was revealed Scory P did not knock me up just opened the door and as I had ended up in a ball during the night up one end which was the one he opened the board fell of the window ledge and I was promptly deposited in the ditch, amidst much chuckling from Pat we hit the road and tipped our loads and I remember reloading apples in Angers hence forth always locked me doors, cheers JD (Buzzer)
Thinking of Horry running in this heat don’t know how he got on yet but sure he will let you all know later, Buzzer.
Just to let you all know and for those who sponsored Horry he completed the 13 miles Reading half marathon in 2 hours 8 seconds not bad eh, sure he will post later Buzzer.
Good morning, hope you had a good weekend.
Ok I did make it to the finish. 2:00:08 apparently! An amazing day, I am a bit sunburnt and sore legs this morning!
Thank you so much to everyone who has kindly donated to MACS and with your support I have managed to raise nearly £3000 which will help them to continue their incredible work.
If you still wish to donate, my fundraising page will remain open.
See you soon, Horry x
Well done for both the run & raising the money which is the hardest part. You seem to ask the same people then they ask you. Full marathon next■■?
Jeremy
Congratulations Horry. A brilliant effort and a fantastic amount. You should be very proud of yourself. All us oldies are. If Mappo and myself were doing it we would be just about finishing. Let me know when you are doing the next one so I can throw a few coppers in the kitty! Regards Charlie
Never did like name boards or any thing else cluttering up the front of a truck just devalues the image, think Qwozzy removed this before coming back to the yard, Buzzer.
devalue the firm. NEVER.just wanted people to know
who I worked for, how are you johnny?

Always a valid reason with you Kwoz, I am going along ok thanks few aches now and then but we aint getting any younger. Now you ask what you like at gardening as I may need a hand putting in the spuds now the ground has dried up a bit, payment will be made on lifting of course, was going to ask Mappo but he never did like a bit of graft, hardest he ever worked was on the old one arm bandits and as we all know there is only one winner there, cheers Buzzer.
