Davies Int. Southampton. With photos (Part 1)

His pictures were great, lets hope someone else steps up! On a lighter note, I would imagine the vacancy created was filled in a nano second!

HaHa! Nunkey Transport!

gazzer:

Gazzer was that F12 ex Armstrongs ? Buzzer.
PS. Roberts Freight don’t you know !

Yes I think it was Buzzer.

Morrison left? Calamity. Was the grass greener?

Cant have an opinion on the grass being greener, the new job is in Micheldever but it’s not on a bulker so I will leave you to work that one out. Every one thinks things will be better for a move but the proof is in pudding as you know and it don’t always work out, Buzzer.

PS. How green is the grass in Micheldever ?

Wouldn’t be driving a silver vehicle would it ?

if its where I’m thinking i don’t think the grass will be greener

Hi All
If they are silver it probably wont be greener & most seem to be on UK containers at the moment.
The yard was full of fertilizer is it still.
Cheers Rich

Sorry to hear Andrew has moved on.The pictures were fantastic mate, thank you.

“Stagefright” then is that what you meant Rich, cheers Buzzer.

Horry:
Good morning.

Bit too chilly for the old Ambre Solaire!

Beware the yellow snowballs.

Well it’s not us even though we have a vacancy as “Arthur” has left us.

The grass may not be greener but different. I enjoyed my bit of RocknRolling. Full of ageing hippies me thinks. Andrew not in that category but we could get some good photos still from him. Good luck from me Andrew, make the most of it. They don’t have many permanent drivers and as it has been said most are on General Haulage at the moment.

Not much grass up here in Micheldever…awaiting the good times to roll out…and so is Andrew i expect!

Gazzer he has been joined by another DIT pilot aka “Moxey” in the greener pastures of Micheldever
(is it something to do with the springs) between them 14 years service, bit of a mini exodus but we have seen that all before. Shame because they were good at the job.

Last time when I was in charge and the tail wanted to wag the dog I sold four globetrotters in a morning, 2 to Skillbeech, one to Axle and the other to Phil Grant and got rid of the drivers. Buzzer.

Well thats what i call not mucking about !

weve all done the grass is greener thing !!! i had a steady little number working on the other side of segensworth !!!been with them since started !!! when the genie approched and told me of a job of untold riches and home most nights !!! and labelled the best job in the world !!! when then what do you know it clearly wasnt !!! but by a stroke of luck and having worked hard to get a good name im finally sorted

Personally I never went for " The grass is greener " syndrome. I always went for the money. Conditions and extras were of no importance.I always needed the hard cash.I put two daughters through uni and that wasnt cheap.Fancy motors with spotlights etc do not put bread on the table. I still keep my ears to the ground and as I have a lot of contacts I learn a lot.It was a bit of a shock to find out the different pay scales in the area. Some firms seem to be paying about 600 quid a month more than others.Bit of a n eye opener eh? Regards Charlie

never mind buzzer.it was still the best job I ever had. they will
figure it out one day, hope all is well
