Hi all just a little update re the “Jolly Boys Outing” a four day trip into the unknown, actually I have at this moment 7 names forward of prospective travellers so I have discarded the motor bike and side car as it just is not big enough. At first I had no list but have now got one so I can keep track of interested party’s, please don’t hold back if you miss this opportunity you will regret it for sure, just make sure you have a valid passport cheers Buzzer.
When do you want to do it Buzzer? If it works with my schedule I could “jump out” down south nearer to home! Mind u, flights to Malaga from Italia are very cheap with PaddyAir or OrangeJet!

Gazzer we have nothing in concrete yet but should know by Christmas what numbers are interested, then we can move on to formulate a plan if it’s a goer. May/June seems good as weather should be good and its before any holiday rush but we can decide later. If the numbers are there we can have a meet up in the new year and formulate a travel plan and arrangements, but as always updates on here to keep everyone up to speed, regards co organizer Buzzer.

That.s a good find Gazzer, in the early days of fridge work for Buzzer, before Davies
had their own fridges and all the work was done through Mark Viner at Chingfords, we
used to worked alongside and did some work for Verhaeghe out of Belgium for onward
delivery to Spain and Italy including Scicily.
Usually bloody heavy loads, but some interesting work…Good days.
Nice Gazzer…their trailers were bloody heavy weren’t they mate…even empty.!!!

Now then, now then, them was the days when some times even Viner didn’t know or forgot where he had sent you and when you got there you waited two days for a load that had to load yesterday and get delivered the day before that. You remember those times both of you, and Tone you were right that Verhaeghe knew how to overload you and they used to eat some tarmac in one go for sure. On a good note Leon Aitchen who was owner and still is today governor of Chingford and then Solstor was a proper gent, old school and the type not found a lot today. He did what he said he would just like what was written on the tin. Davies were in there at the beginning and have had a long working relationship with both companies which goes back over 25 years had some good times with them which helped build what we have today. Remember loading in Betera with you Tone running down from France MT and we went over tereuel, what a friggin road that was back then if you went over 40k’s an hour you got chucked out the seat, then you thought we would cut the corner off and save a few miles. Lovely new road till we got to the first little town and in front of us what looked like a low bridge, but this turned out to be an optical illusion and we scraped under it but only just, Bocodillo lomo get loaded and high tail out of there for home, good old MH days them, cheers Buzzer.
Hi Buzzer, yeh I remember that short cut, i think I went that way with Paul Nichols
On a later trip…I hope Paul won’t mind me reminding him about another trip to Betera
when going through a bend in a narrow village, Paul clouted the front corner of his
new Chingfords fridge with an oncoming truck…oops.
On arrival at the pack house I think we bodged it as best we could with gaffer tape or
similar, and on return to UK you had it repaired with chequer plate.
Remember that JD…■■?

Don’t remember that Tone but there were loads of scrapes but considering the miles covered by our trucks in all the years past we have been pretty lucky on the major incident list touch wood. Remember Wee Jock rang me one night, he had backed into a piece of metal jutting out from the old Eurohaul shed when it was part dismantled and Lorraines were using it as an over flow carpark. He said it’s made a wee hole in the back door but on inspection in the morning and the door open it was about a foot wide, new door needed Jock bollocked as well, cheers Buzzer.
Just seven on the JBO list no new comers this week, Jimmer kick Rocky and Gaz’s IOW cage to see if there up for it, as for the picture, that is so me cheers Buzzer.

F******k that gazzer it’s only I can’t spell swear words lol
Mr Davies, if you can drag your company photographer away from whatever swimming pool, beach or ocean liner dining room that he may be frequenting about now, tell him its about time we had some pics posted!
Must admit the contract for that job which is usually renewed at the start of the new year will need some reconsidering due to the acute shortage of material , this when he ate 8 pickled eggs in one sitting at Tracy Island the other day in the rest room, no wonder his fuel averages are good he’s wind assisted but smelly. Mr Morrison you really got to do better, cheers Buzzer.
Probably been on before but from FB, Buzzer.
PS. Andrew you better buck up mate.
