Looking well andrew, whats your thoughts on the scania against the volvo, are you a convert

Hi thanks,Scania superb yes i am a convert :sunglasses: :sunglasses:

Hi Andrew,

Great pics well done, motors look the dog’s whatsits.

Savona brings back memories of containers in stripped out tilts that Skillbeech used to tip there before rebuilding tilt and re loading Bergamo

Genoa, is that bridge still there that goes out into mid air when your exiting to go on the SS 1 ?

It was a bit different in those days with Angie driving the old Maggie Deutz 232 with me asleep in the passenger seat

Regards
Richard

God do I remember that Richard and then you went round a bend on stilts and I used to lean in in case the motor wanted to fall of the edge, bet I was not the only one to do that either, JD.

Andrew Morrison:
3 amigo’s wknd in France0

Great pictures again Andrew.
Just a suggestion here and not sure how it will go down with the Boss.Do you think it would look even better if the blue band on the trailer should carry on and wrap round to the fridge unit? I think it would create a continuous blue line through to the cab?

It was B…y different in my day I can tell you!!!

Ye Gods I must be getting old…a lot of Italy was very “different”…but the Pasta was great…

A great consolation if you were lost…as I was…

And “confession” was available every Sunday…Wow I had a starey start when the Priestspoke English…with a Liverpool accent…now that is a story for another day…

Cheerio for now…(for Im in the Doghouse big time)…

Ah M Bollinger beckons…and how!!

That link was at the bottom of the A26 wasn’t it? I dunno whether it was worse at night or day!! But it was always twitchy ■■■■■ time in heavy rain!

Campogalliano eh! Customs or Public Health inspection?

It must be a Traffic Office nightmare having all the trucks at the same place at the same time, all looking for reloads.

See Andrew, you are on my wavelength! If I still had Photoshop on this PC I could probably edit it for you. (Get some silver/grey gaffa tape and see how it looks! 2 metres should be enough, don’t forget the chevrons at the far end. The fleet numbers shouldn’t be affected) then take a photo! Actually, the photo with the red Scania, there is a shadow on the trailer that almost emulates what I’m on about!

Well done for the art work Colin, but in my view you either leave it like it is or take that silver stripe the full length of the trailer, cheers Buzzer.

Spot on Colin…

It’s Colmenar “Romeria” weekend again.
More photos of the event after tomorrow.

Here,s a couple courtesy of Richard Green.

Another unusual one to follow, but for another day.

Tone what a cracking truck F 725 RDF was in Richards picture 3.8 mtrs wheelbase on air the muts nuts, bought along with E42 OAD that was 3.6 mtr w/b . Both these trucks I bought from Peter Gilder who was at Pats funeral, I had not seen him for 20 odd years and he looks exactly the same today as he did then. Went there on a Sunday morning once to buy trucks and he told me not to come before 9am, got there at eight no one around knocked on the door of the house blew me horn and all of a sudden round the corner he came brandishing a pointed shovel and boy was he mad, he told me to f–k off and he aint selling me a truck that day, but in the end he calmed down and the thought of me not spending must have got the better of him. Bought quite a few trucks from Peter in the early days mostly V8’s good old days, Buzzer.

Another of Richard Greens.
I,ll let you explain this one Buzzer.

Mappo another cracking motor ex ASR, that is until FT put a rod through the side on the Winchester bypass early one morning coming back from covent garden. He got a police range rover to tow him including the empty fridge up on to the gravel layby on the Otterbourne turn off. By the time I got to grips with it Slatey had ordered an exchange motor of Princes at Millbrook and she ended up being driven by me doing wine tanks for Armstrongs, cheers buzzer.
PS. she got painted two tone blue in the end and was the sister motor to Ian Lawsons truck.

I think you’ll find it was a company called ‘Sopagly’ in Rivesaults, just north of Perpignan, we loaded there on a weekly basis for some years, mostly grape must for Gerber Foods in Bridgwater and occasionly wine for Buckfast Abbey.

Regards GAZ

Hi all are you sure gazz looks a bit clean and modern for soppagly looks more like italy but could be wrong
