Davies Int. Southampton. With photos (Part 1)

Hi Balders sorry to hear you having bad weather but now our sun has naffed off as well, did not feel like the middle of June today that’s for sure, Any way some one took a pic of us out when the sun was shining with a triple of steeds and sent it into the BBC as they show two or three pics every night just before the weather forecast, you cant see my face which is just as well maybe that’s why I have not had any autograph hunters round to see me. My French climbing beans that I put in the ground did a French air traffic control job on me as well and went on strike so I planted more in pots and they did come up and I planted them out on Sunday so hopefully they will take off now (sorry) anyway cheerio for now Buzzer.

Never mind JD… we all make mistakes… said the Dalek , climbing off the dustbin.

Maybe those beans are growing downwards?

Weather here now 28 degrees… Bizzare.

Those 3 horses look superb ( What breed? ) … good job you weren’t in pic though People is 'avin their tea around that time. Is That on South Today with the photos?

I had a Welsh Cob once when I lived in Wickham and used to ride it on the old railway line to West meon and back. can you still ride along those old tracks? Bit difficult for access with a carriage I guess. I have lived in Soberton, Droxford, Wickham etc and have happy memories of those disused railway tracks… All along the Meon Valley and the A32…
Think it went to Alton /Alresford (for our Jimmy Rawlings friends?) And was very important with the strawberry and watercress trade to London from Burseldon /Park Gate…How things change. I remember when all the strawberry boys (Like Chalky Barney and Joey Smith) were selling their land in Titchfield /Park gate…to Tesco or for houses… Made fortunes overnight. And now the Park Gate Station is a very good Indian Restaurant…How times change!

Hi Balders the horses I have are Gelderlanders from Holland and I was intrigued to know if that Welsh cob you had that you rode on up the old railway line at Wickham had four legs or two, just wondering like. Glad to see you getting better weather now that will make the plants kick on, I am thinking of digging a root of spuds just to see whats there will keep you informed cheerio for now JD. (Buzzer)

The Nag at the front is learning the route/job apparently.

Hi Badger I suspect that is deer cos they come when you aint there anyways I would think its the wrong time of year to plant trees or shrubs mate best done in the autumn that job, should think you need some high fence round them till they get going and as you only got five surgest Heras fencing like they have round building sites as it is 6ft high and easy to put up and that’s what I use for me beans all the best with that green fingers , Bursledon. Never knowingly undersold !

Buzzer.

Evening John, that is real kind of you! No, I get my supplies direct from the “works”, it`s a long standing arrangement!! (And causes some puzzled looks from our “executive neighbours”, when they see the liveried vehicles delivering my “essential” supplies!!! I try to keep a few “in stock”, but thanks for the thought, I appreciate it!

Just a thought, how is your grass doing? Mine is still wet in the stalk, and with this rain , well it a`int getting better! All our “organic” hay meadows are close to the house, and as I tap this in, well, they do not look great! The west wind , and the rain , is flattening the growth, and we are at least two weeks away from mowing, (more like three at the present rate), so I am a bit concerned to say the least!

Spuds are coming through, and as yet we do not need irregation, but the shoots are not as good as I would like, and of more concern the Barley, well it is “retarded”, and that worries me!!

Beautiful Horses you have, and they look “bang on”, congratulations. My old lad, well he is a bit “corpulant”, but he is happy, and has a great temprament, and all the family love him, so as long as I look after him…well I suppose I will get some tea each night!!

Good luck, Cheerio for now.

Your garden looks good

photo0156.jpgHi Saviem cattle gone a week now and did not sell so well but I have harrowed the pasture to spread the pats and now beginning to grow away so may get some more cattle in a week or two, as for the garden we are doing better in that department and I have dug some spuds as per pic they are not huge but by god they taste good with a little butter and salt and pepper. Had a look at the rest and there are beetroot ready as well and carrots not far behind so looking good at the moment. Went for a drive with a pair today with the good Lady and dog aboard but you would never think we are in the middle of June and then the Daughter in law cooked us lunch as it is fathers day but then that’s just another bit of an American crap idea to make money. My haylage supplier has done ten acres but the forecast for the coming week does not give one any confidence maybe there is better weather round the corner, anyways keep in touch cheerio for now Buzzer.

Evening Buzzer, that is a fine carriage. My pal down the lane , who does a fair bit of “driving”, tells me that a “triple” takes real skill! Congratulations.

Where are you showing? Good luck anyway.

Cheerio for now.

Hi all well to stop you falling off page one thought I’d let you see what I’ve been working on lately !
Well I started this 11 May and this is it now !! Was going ok till I put the last thing on which was the visor mirror which I made fron a door mirror but when I stuck it on DISASTER ! Superglue and zip kicker destroyed the windscreen !! So to hide me sins it had to have a bit of weathering ! Now I know Davies trucks are always clean but I do remember seeing one dirty once in Poland !! so let’s pretend its this one !! Please !!!

The damaged screen !!! Can’t hide it anymore !!

The stack is the closest I could get !!
Regards Jimmer

Yet another work of art Jimmer…shame about the windscreen, I bet you,re gutted about that.
It,ll still be straight on the wash when it gets to Tracy Island.
