Evening all,

Has anyone had any dealings with/driven for said company? Located in earls colne, Essex.
Thinking of dropping in with my cv in the near future. Any opinions appreciated

HI , IVE WORKED FOR THEM , COMING UP 13TH YEAR , HAVE DRIVEN FOR A FEW AND IN WORKSHOP NOW . DAVE WATSON IS A TOP BLOKE . SEVERAL MANAGERS LEAVE A LOT TO BE DESIRED BUT I GUESS MOST PLACES ARE LIKE THIS . HE KEEPS VERY GOOD KIT , TRIES VERY HARD TO KEEP UP TO DATE . HEALTH/SAFETY IS KEPT ON TOP OF . DRIVING/HOURS ETC ARE STRICTLY BY THE BOOK . MONEY GOOD BUT SLIGHTLY COMPLICATED PAY STRUCTURE , HOURS + OVERTIME +BONUSES . HOPE THIS HELPS . REGARDS.

Thanks for your reply, I literally work opposite them in earls colne, factory work at the moment at milbank concrete but when I’m up to c+e standards I’ll be giving them a knock, (got cat C training booked Monday week).

According to their website they do cpc training as well so that’s even better. They’ve got mostly drawbars from what I’ve seen, and a few tasty 64plate tractor units too.

From what I’m told milbank and David Watson used to run together back in the day, but then they went their separate ways.

Turned a job down there as wasent keen on the bonus thing but they seem ok and well run apart from that to be fair i got the impression he was quiet surprised i said no

i cant remember exactly i just dont like bonus schemes full stop mate

Pop it into Direct Transportation while you are there. I’ve done some agency work for them and they seem a decent bunch. Long days though.

It’s an hourly rate plus 2 or 3 % of vehical earning after a point and on memory £45 per nite out . You have to bear in mind it’s local hi ab work so it’s job rate rather than miles so the trucks earn well . Bjd I think you may have missed out there the only people paying better than that around Medway is emms the generator lot
