Dash Cams

Following on from the earlier posts linking footage where a honda civic gets stuck to the front of an arrogant drivers lorry … Can anyone recommend a decent dashcam?

I’ve looked on amazon and they range from £15 upwards. I would have to pay for this myself so not looking for an all singing all dancing gps linked jobby.

Go on to this site he reviews dash cams www.techmoan.com
And take your pick

A bit strong since you only have the cameras view …
and the driver was acquitted and if there had been any doubt he would have been found guilty

Why would you want one Thinking of doing the same :unamused:

No, as I said in the second thread I have been in the same situation before and have always backed off. Having right of way doesn’t make your actions right.

But let’s save any debate about that incident for the other threads that were posted about it. Viewing those threads reminded me that I had been looking for a dashcam, but I wanted to see if anyone had purchased one they would recommend.

thing is there’s 2 debates going on that subject and hard to keep tabs
to be fair and I wont go further with it and I’ve held off the subject you just admitted you’ve been in the same position and have backed off but we don’t know if the driver of said truck could have backed off or even moved over but if there had been any doubt in any LEGAL judgement both parties would have been done and since the Truck driver is classed as a professional he would have come out worse, remember there are cameras all over most junctions that are recording 24/7 so there must be info that is not privy to the rest of us…
Just saying …

The cheap ones do the job but don’t expect to see clear number plates. I’d use it more for an overall view of an incident. The cheap ones aren’t very good at recording in the dark either (I’m not sure how the expensive ones compare)

I use a Blackvue 380g, not the cheapest at £150 but gives a good picture day or night.

Jesus wept on his cloud up in the sky, he didn’t see him! He didn’t deliberately ram him!

Wether he SHOULD of seen him is another matter which I can’t be bothered to debate.

As to your dash cam query, I’ve heard black vue are good but pricey.

All of our fleet are kitted out with the Roadhawk HD camera. I’d pay the other side of £100 if I was buying one myself as a good camera could save you a hell of a lot more in the future. They also can make your insurance premiums lower as well.
