Dash Cams

Hope this isn’t in the wrong place. I bought a dash cam called “myionu” from a company in Perth WA, paid $299.00 for it and was never happy with it. I phoned them and they said I’d get my money back.

Now I want another one with GPS that works with an iMac. I’ve looked at RoadHawk, but can’t figure whether it works with the Mac or only with Windows. We’ll be in England in May/June, so has anyone got any suggestions ?.. Keep it clean.

This one was looking good, but I don’t think it works with iMac either. VC-250 Dash Cam with GPS Has anyone got any experience of it ?

I have roadhawk, it works on windows 7 no problem. quite a good camera.

Yeah, but I use an iMac.

PLEASE NOTE: The software is not compatible with MAC operating systems.

Thanks for that. The link wouldn’t work, but I didn’t see the bit about macs on their site… going blind.

I had a proper look at the site and came across this one.

According to the blurb, it works with Mac.
Anyone used one ?

double post oops.

I use dailyroads for android on my htc one x with a fish eye lens attachment.

gives 180 degree field of view so can see the whole dash pretty much.

app is free and lens was £3 on ebay.

forget the dash cam
buy a new computer

I’ve got an old iphone that I think I can get an app for, but what if my stockbroker calls to say I’ve just made a million quid.

I did get on the roadhawk site again and found a new model called the roadhawk hd. It reckons it’s got software for mac, so I’ll see what happens when I get a reply from the email I sent them.

No, the Roadhawk software doesn’t work on a Mac, but you can still see the video on a Mac using QuickTime. You won’t have all the GPS and speed data though!

Right, it’s all the gps stuff that I wanted. It looks like the sites a bit misleading cos it says you can download the mac software. I’m hoping to get a reply from them next week.

Had a reply from Roadhawk and he says this particular one has software that works with Mac, so I’ll have to think about that one.
