Can anybody recommend me a dash cam??
I drive a different unit every day so it needs to be easily changeable, I don’t want to spend loads of cash on it, say £30ish
After today’s episode I think it’ll be a good investment, I was on the A40 eastbound just approaching the Target Roundabout junction, I moved into the middle lane as I was heading to a dot com centre near Greenford Station , in front of me in the middle lane was a dust cart, traffic was stop start, came to a stop so I put the handbrake on, the dust cart was about 10ft in front of me when he started rolling back, I blasted the horn but it’s a pathetic one on the Axor, he ended up rolling into me, give it a fair old whack, the arms that lift the bins went straight through the radiator on my unit, smashed the grills and a few panels. For some reason the engine wouldn’t switch off, steam pouring out but managed to get it switched off eventually.
The other fella then done something strange, he turned the PTO on and the hydraulic fluid was shooting up in the air and was all over the road by the time he turned it off, coz of that I didn’t even decide to try and move out of the middle lane, I called the old bill who turned up with the fire brigade, they chucked a bit of sand down and disappeared. The old bill weren’t happy and seemed really stroppy with me until I told them it was the other fella that rolled into me, they were surprised so had a chat with him and fair play to the fella, he admitted what he’d done, my fear was that he would say I drove into the back of him, no witnesses hung about so would have been my word against his.
Because of the chaos that was caused, the traffic was backed up to the M25 from the Target, the old bill have reported him for driving without due care and attention, I flet for the guy as a lot of other people would probably have denied it, the copper said he was going to recommend a driver awareness course.
The copper recommended getting a dash cam as there can’t be much of an arguement to be had with something like that, I think it’s a good idea as someone else could have tried to stitch me up this morning, so any recommendations would be appreciated
