Looks like the free flow toll systen which comes in next October has been given to the French firm sanef who run a lot of the French toll roads the km online is reporting surly there’s a uk firm that could do this rather than subsidise the French road network there being paid 370 odd million to run it

Are the highways agency French? Or do you mean connect plus that run it on their behalf are French?

It has been mentioned in other places that if UKIP win the next election,which they may or may not do, tolls will be removed from all crossings.If that was to happen in 2015
I do hope that SANEF don’t come crying seeking KOM-PEN-SAT-ION, UKIP plans are public knowledge SANEF should be fully aware of that fact.Would be nice though to screw

Unless it’s changed hands again, the tolls are operated by the French company le crossing, as the bridge was sold quite some time ago. That’s why it has it’s own private patrols and escorts, not the highways agency

Like I said, I didn’t realise the patrols had changed hands to connect. As far as I’m aware the French still own and operate the tolls

The crossing has never been sold, its owned by the UK government, Le Crossing used to operate & mantain it but since 2009 its been operated & mantained by Connect Plus M25, which is made up of a consortium of Atkins, Egis, Skanska, and Balfour Beatty. It has also been patrolled by HATO’s since 2009.

That’s quite an assumption to reach from my comment that the UKIP crazies won’t be winning any elections. Would be interested to know how you reached it.

I read somewhere that it finished paying for itself ages ago. It’s just more money being taken for no reason! Can’t see the tolls ever going
