Dartford crossing

Will be using the tunnel tomorrow might sound a daft question but can you use the tunnel going northbound   with hazardous stuff on :unamused: :unamused:

Yes, both ways. It’s well signed.
Stop at the marked layby and wait for ■■■■■■ through tunnel.

You have to come off before the tunnel and follow the diamond. Then go to the offices to show them your paperwork… They then tell you if you are allowed through said tunnel. Then you park and wait for ■■■■■■… Just dont go to the ■■■■■■ parkin…
I think thats the way it works …

Some other no all sod will no…

just wait…

Yes you come off at the very last exit and go straight across the roundabout and turn right into the wide load / DG area. They will want to inspect your paperwork and then they will let you out to go through the tolls. Keep to the left and pull into the big layby that says “tankers for ■■■■■■” they will then come and stop the traffic to let the convoy go and will follow you through down the centreline.

It’s Junction 1A.

I went past it today and, IIRC, is signed “Power Station and Tunnel Control.”

Never been down there though.
:open_mouth:

they never seem to be held up for long either
same price as well

ive never had to wait more than 5mins till they let u through.

most times ive ben through on my own personal ■■■■■■ when running back on sunday from the boat, makes you feel somewhat special lol

When did the left hand tunnel shrink?

I had a moment down there last time when I saw the 15’ 9" sign just as I was going into it with a 16ft trailer. Straddled the lines and it was OK, but it never used to be 15’ 9".

More than likely when they re-surfaced it .

this might be a little late but there are some hazardous goods that cannot go through the dartford tunnel, dangerous when wet is usually refused and some other bad stuff too.

dangerous when wet is usually refused

Although if the tunnel starts leaking that badly the Dangerous goods are suddenly less important.

Ermmmmmmmm, aren’t both tunnels Northbound?

I don’t know if the rules have changed but many years ago, I was refused access with a full load of drummed IPA on!! Only hazard was inflammable.

Actually no if you want to be picky. If they close the bridge like they did yesterday morning it’s one tunnel each way.
