Put in perspective the Tamar bridge is £15 nearly for HGV

there was a toll over the estuary at porthmadog saved going a good 15 miles out of your way. a man used to stand at one end collecting the money. it was for the heady sum of 5 pence.
The Swinford toll bridge near Ensham is 5p for cars or 5p per axle I think for larger stuff.
It changed hands in 2009 for a little over £1m, so I guess there is profit to be had.
I think there is some special tax arrangement that goes back to its early years which may help.
Itchen bridge in Southampton is £40 for non local HGV’s!!!
is that the relatively new one that if you follow the signs to them m27 from the docks it takes you to. I was in a van so not as bad as an hgv but still wasnt happy
