After an appointment and a good chat with Professor Marson, who happens to be GOD as far as the DVLA are concerned, my diagnosis of temporal lobe epilepsy has been overturned.
That’s despite the DVLA having evidence from both me and the specialist last year that the diagnosis had been revised. They chose to ignore this completely as it turns out.
Anyway, I’ll shut up and just ask if there have been any major changes in the 3 years I’ve not been around lol.
Well done mate. Long time coming. Couple of questions, did you pass your class 2 and your psv on the same day? And what’s that am entitlement it’s come back with? I can’t be asked to get out of bed and check mine. And if you passed your car test in 93, why has your 7.5 ton entitlement come back with your class 2 and not its original date? Weird
I passed my car test Jan 93, my bus test Oct 98 but in an auto and so had a restriction code.
The HGV was in 2003 and as it has a higher weight and a manual gearbox, I got the PSV upgrade for free, hence the issue date. I actually phoned the DVLA when I saw that to make sure it wasn’t a mistake lol.
I did question the B1E and D1E being listed as a provisional on the counterpart to find that they have another licence to send out tomorrow with the amendments on - typical DVLA.
Without looking at the paper bit, I’m not sure on the dates either
Its been a very long slog with weekly phone calls for nearly two years. I’ve got every intention of claiming from them as this could have been sorted by last summer at the latest.
Anyway, onwards and upwards, its just a shame my PSV DCPC has lapsed and I need to find the time and money to do a full 35 hours in the next 10 months!!

I’ve had a letter saying they are sending me another as they missed off my C1 and D1.
Erm no they didn’t lol. They missed my C1E and D1E but I’m not entirely sure my grandfather rights apply anymore.
It’s been a complete farce from the very start. I was shown information by the bloke the DVLA regard as god and my diagnosis was wrong from the very beginning (Feb 2010), and yes, there is a claim in against the NHS. There is also one going in against the DVLA for ignoring major information submitted by both myself and the specialist who diagnosed me!!
