Have this got to page 2 yet
i ask something that may give you the answer to my question
as the driver finished on Friday
if the driver had to go to work on Saturday when would be the earliest time the driver be able two return to work
the answer would be after the driver as completed a daily rest
if as you say Rog that he on a weekly rest and that what you consider it to be in your thinking he as started a weekly rest and there for could not go in till the weekly rest as been completed IE 24 hours
is the same as compensation for rest it would have to be added to the end of a weekly rest
so based on that i would say the order of rest is
daily, come before weekly cos as it says you extending it to a weekly rest
delboytwo:
so based on that i would say the order of rest isdaily, come before weekly cos as it says you extending it to a weekly rest
so once you have made it into a weekly, where did the daily go

And there is the post of the man who knows he is wrong but isn’t a big enough person to admit it so tries changing the subject by pretending he’s only doing it to get it to 2 pages.
It’s over Del, we’ve one. Post the next quiz?

its still there Rog its part of your weekly rest

Agreed - so what do you describe it as when referring to it - daily or weekly
Or would that depend on the nature of the question

I describe it as weekly but that doesn’t alter the fact it’s still a daily rest as well. I’ll say I’ve done a 15 but that doesn’t alter the fact I’ve actually reduced my daily rest according to the regulations. I’ll say I’ve done a 10 but that doesn’t alter the fact I’ve actually extended my driving day according to the regulations. I’ll say I thought ROG was finally beginning to read and understand the regulations but that doesn’t alter the fact he still focuses on the irrelevant stuff when answering questions
I’m understand the regs just questioning what the question posed was precisely asking for
What’s the minimum amount of daily rest you can have in a week working Monday to Friday
The original question that started this discussion has nothing to do with terminology it has to do with what the law requires.
The law requires you to have a daily rest period for and in each 24 hour period that you do work as a driver, it’s not a choice and it’s not an option it’s a legal requirement.
Though I doubt VOSA or anyone else would really be too bothered what you choose to call it as long as you have it
ROG:
tachograph:
A weekly rest period taken at the end of the working week is a daily rest period plus the hours required to make it up to a weekly rest period. Therefore the way I see it is that when you finish work on Friday you go onto a daily rest, when the required duration of daily rest has been reached then that daily rest period becomes a part of the weekly rest period but it remains a daily rest period.
Cannot fault that.
What terminology would be used to describe that period of time
My time

Rog that the point mate its a Quiz and quiz have quiz question if i put the exactly as worded there would be no point in asking the question as it would be to easy, how i word my quiz’s is my choice if you can do better have a go at a quiz i am sure you could pose some very go questions worded just how you like them

Cut out the red herring stuff from the question, which worked nicely, and the question precisely asked what was the minimum daily rest, in terms of total hours, for 5x24-hour periods.
You initially had the right answer then changed it when someone else posted a different answer because you didn’t want to appear ‘wrong.’ If the first person to answer had been a ‘Guru’ and they had put 49 you would never have changed your answer and this thread wouldn’t exist. Now you are trying to blame the question when you failed to just answer the basic question and fell for the irrelevant stuff, something you often do, as you have readily admitted because of the way you think while driving, when answering questions on here.

If the question had been worded exactly like that then I would have no hesitation in my answer - 49

but Rog Monday to Friday is 5x 24 hour just a different way to put it to confuse the issue to make it a good question

Regardless of the words used that is exactly what the question asked and part of the skill in answering quiz questions is picking out the relevant details.
Do you remember back to those arithmetic questions they used to set in school about trains leaving stations or blokes digging holes? They were full of unnecessary details and you just had to sort the relevant bits out to be able to answer them.

the blokes digging holes was easy - just count the number of Hi-Vis to get the answer

We didn’t have Hi-Viz BS back then so you would have been wrong again.
See what you did? You added in more irrelevant stuff and got the wrong answer.
