I work the evening shift but i dont know what my job is for the next day or what my start time is until i get to work and see it posted on the board, they seem to think it’s ok but myself and most other drivers regard it as a inconvenience and so do our respective partners, does anyone else have to put up with this.
Our rota is up for the week in advance, I’m 3am all week and down for 9.45 days. The start time never changes much but my shift time can be vastly wrong, 9.45hr day on the rota but on your run actually takes 13/14hrs
Depends on what kind of work you do. If you are doing regular runs, great, you’ll know weeks in advance. At our palce, the job swaps and changes with work coming in and getting cancelled till the last minute, so we never know what’s going on till about 16.00.
We will not know what time we have to start until the end of our shift but it will be roughly the same time again unless we have a long day then it might be a slightly later time, i won’t usually accept anything more than a 2 hour swing unless it suits me.
I generally find out what I’m doing the next day about 5pm. This means I often don’t know if I’m getting spun that day til late on either. Pita but guess it’s just part of the job.

A lot of Companies are like that, start times usually have a time window of anything from 1-4 hours
Same here. I wake up to a text message telling me my start time and destination. I know roughly how long any trip will take, barring motorway ■■■■ ups of course.

May have to do that our Transport Manager is Off-Sick and will be back in a few Day. Everyone seems waking up in Panik.
