Daily Rest

I do over night work for my agency from time to time. But tell me why is it that all foreign drivers seem to be able to take so much daily rest?. They always seem to be parked up first and the last to leave. While i am trying to work out if i can manage eleven hours to night before my drop next morning!!

You ought to post that in the “I hate foreigners threads” :stuck_out_tongue:

It is because a foreigner or a brit abroad will plan his route himself. He isnt on the phone every 10 minutes to a traffic ofice.

Every company in the UK want 25 trucks on the doorstep at 8.00am. the difference on the continent is that the load is to be collected on a particular day, and delivered on a certain date. The driver can then plan his route, ferry crossing and stopping place!

Most people on here will say that the foreign drivers dont sleep and drive for 24 hours a day.

Just the way it goes sometimes. Last night in Germany, where I would be classed as a foreign driver, I had 15 hours 38 minutes daily rest, the night before it was 13 hours. Quite often the ‘foreign’ driver will know exactly what they have to do in the entire week so can plan it accordingly and that can mean more rest rather than having the shortest possible in case the traffic office spring a surprise or three on you.
