I’m quite surprised that the daily wail has got such a reputation for being some kind of “Right Wing Rag” as it has.
I’m often censored, bounced, moaned at on there for saying stuff deemed to be “too politically incorrect” to not “cause upset”.
Stuff like “The Calais Children are not kids” and “Why do we hate Russia so right now?” and “It’s not necessarily a disaster if Trump wins the presidency.” or even “It’s not impossible for him to win it either!”
…kinda stuff.
There are a whole list of words one cannot use when posting. Words like “Muslim” or “Jewish” or “Criminal” or “Illegal” or “Immigrant” or “Hero Trucker”.
Doesn’t anyone realize that if you pump the population with enough bull arguments EITHER way - Hard right OR loony left - then people will just become “Anti Establishment” and do all they can to go against BOTH arguments?
I consider myself a moderate man. I find myself agreeing that “Something should be done about people diddling their phones whilst driving”. I don’t consider the argument to be “Anti Trucker”.
I DO consider not making this DM campaign against ALL of the driver population part of the wider “Let’s all hate Truckers” campaign, just as NATO tries to swing it’s “Let’s all hate Russia” agenda right now.

The public are sick of being told they have to do ANYTHING to suit a small minority one way or the other. Push them enough - and they’ll do the opposite thing “whilst they still can”.
The Media preaching against that same public will then bang on about how “They won’t be here in Twenty year’s time” as if they were all old ■■■■■. Or they’ll brand them “Loony Left” if they are deemed to “not support the current Conservative Government”. Well I don’t bloody well support the current government - and I couldn’t be further FROM “Loony Left” myself! At a time when a load of people I grew up with think that the best way to improve this country is to “Let everyone in, let everyone off, let everyone preach to me, and let everyone else make all my decisions for me” - I’m leaning more and more myself into just being "Anti Establishment.
If the Daily Mail has anything like that to say - then I’m going to be supportive of such articles in the press in general. If all they want to do is slag off Truck drivers or even “Immigrant” Truck drivers (can’t say that on DM!) - then they are barking up the wrong tree, and they’ll go on being considered barking mad by the mainstream population - regardless of them reading DM or not themselves.
The same could be said of “Minor Villains” in the way they are treated in “The Sun” 'news’paper or even obviously-tilted-toward UKIP Daily Express or obviously-tilted-toward Loony Left “The Guardian”.
Having said that - I wonder what the wider public feel towards foreign TV channels in English is as well? - Al Jazeera, France 24, RT, EuroNews etc.
Those that don’t watch them - I suggest - probably write them all off as being nothing but “propaganda mouthpieces for so-and-so”.
Me? - I’ll just watch the material and make up my own mind. Especially when the material to be had from so-called “British” sources has already being voided on the news stories I consider worthy of print. 
Noticed that the BBC has far too much “What’s happening thousands of miles away” when NOT reporting things like “Crime on YOUR doorstep” or “Local Government Scandals” or even “Police Recommendations to the public” kinda stuff?
Oh yeh. You can’t say the word “Foreign” in a DM post either. The parsar “Blocked Words” list continues to grow.
In my mind - a parsar or moderator should only block posts that are profane in nature - NOT merely making an argument that the moderator does not agree with. 
I think we get that on TNUK - and I applaud the stewardship of this board in the fair and reasonable way that it’s run.

Southampton Docks yesterday, 4 artics coming towards me on a straight stretch, 3 of the 4 were using mobiles, at least the one with the phone to his head was looking at the road ahead, the two looking down certainly weren’t. All GB trucks and companies, no idea regarding the nationality of the drivers.

You should have taken a photo of each and sent them in to the DM … 
Now let me see, DM photographer on a bridge taking pictures of trucks using the M20, which is the most used direct route to the port of Dover and the Channel Tunnel, “mostly” used by,
ah yes, European truck drivers and when I say European, I mean other than UK companies.
I’m not condoning the use of mobiles for whatever reason, or by whoever, but they are bound to get those pictures of foreigners on THAT motorway because there are hundreds of them.
To add, as has already been said, they are jumping on back of the the A34 crash, sentencing of driver and the fact that he was a foreigner driving an HGV.
Why weren’t they on a bridge over the M62, M40, M1, M11? Plenty of foreign hauliers there. Why weren’t they also focusing on car drivers?

It wasn’t a car that killed that family it was a foreign lorry driver playing Abbas greatest hits, daily mail is just highlighting how bad the problem is.
Kinda shocking the comments on here don’t slag the drivers actions but rather slag a newspaper for highlighting it.
I think the point he’s making is that the problem isnt just with hgv drivers but drivers in general and that motorists will be worse percentage wise.
And as for slagging off the drivers actions, its been done plenty times on here in the past. The point is that they are focusing on one group of road users when it is a problem across the whole road network
Spot on Snowy, yes the A34 crash was caused by an HGV, that driver and his actions have been well a truly condemned on here. But the problem is not limited to foreign registered HGVs… Its mums and dads on the school run, it’s couriers delivering parcels, its BRITISH HGV drivers, its off duty coppers, hell its ■■■■■■■ ON duty coppers sometimes! Its an endemic problem caused by a lack of severe punishment and the inability to be caught…

Imagine how much money the local authority can raise to plough back into policing IF the penalty took the form of a

“Licence endorsed and fine minimum of £240 if you don’t pay within 7 days”.
To “get off” in court - you’d have to prove that the photo taken of you driving your vehicle - is not actually you at all. THAT is not an easy thing to do with today’s HD photo gear readily available.
