hi all do VOSA say how long the driver should allow for the daily checks for a unit and trailer, my company allow 25 minutes and have started giving out infringements if we take less, saying its vosa rules
I don’t think they actually state a time. In one of their publications - Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness - on page 11, they simply say
It is important that enough time is allowed for the completion of these checks and that staff are encouraged and trained to carry them out thoroughly.
Obviously the time will vary depending on the type of vehicle, even between different types of unit and trailer, but if your firm want you to take 25 minutes and they are paying you for the time I don’t see the problem?
