Purely out of interest as I see it when at Belvedere incinerator, what route does the ferry from Dagenham run and is it just unaccompanied trailers for Ford or a regular commercial ferry. Thanks

It always went to Zeebrugge and accompanied freight has used it in the past.

I think Cobelfret do operate it, it was often used when those Romanian Charity Runs were rife. I think Ford paid for the crossing for free publicity, even our own Limey Phil used it I believe.
Cobelfret operate it for ford although they did stop taking 3rd party trailers a few years ago I did hear they top it up occasionally when purfleet is busy. was a bit of a ball ache if you had to drop in purfleet or back then Dartford too then pick up in fords
Do I remember picking up steel coil out of Dagenham dock for Sammy Williams many years ago? (or am I getting a bit more senile than I thought!)

Of course not Steve, I used to deliver Metal Box stuff from Worcester in the early 60s, , Sammy Williams was a big conncern in those days IIRC The had a depot in Wallsall too, I did reload odd times when at Dagenham Dock with steel bars for the Midlands, This was when I was tramping or roaming as it was called in those days
, Take care & stay safe, Regards Larry.
I’m getting senile too but IIR were Sammy William’s silver with black songwriting and had a lot of F86s then didnt Brains have a depot there and a company with 3 initial like CSM have a depot and did 2o foots from sugar factory
Brain haulage gave the late great Terry Wogan one of his jokes where he came on air and said just seen a lorry Brain Haulage. Now that is specialised tru king. Wo der how many got it and how many it was a whoosh moment
All the cars and vans in Dagenham come in on it from Europe as well as the trailers.
