i can’t do with know alls but then i know ■■■■ all lol.

So does that mean I can run into the back of someone and say i was driving within the rules, they weren’t? I can think of a few occasions where i’d enjoy that :smiling_imp:

That sign used to be standard driving test fodder to see if you had actually learnt the HC.

Along with countdown markers, blue and green for motorway and A-road junctions but they asked you red bars on a white background - used to catch a few out!

how motorway markers are explained in the Highway Code for Joe Public, nice and simple.

3 bars - Could this be the junction■■?

2 bars - Still not sure? Better make decision quick

1 bars - Holy Crap, it is!!! :open_mouth: :open_mouth: - Proceed by pulling across 4 lanes of fast moving traffic :open_mouth: :open_mouth: to take the exit :grimacing: .

That could be quite handy for the 30mph brigade in the roadworks with nothing in front of them in a 50 limit  :bulb:

Maybe more worrying you only noticed them for the first time last week :open_mouth:

Wait 'til Conor sees this thread.

theres no such thing as a stupid quistion
only stupid answers

Does anyone know what the white signs mean with the red border and black numbers?

I’m not sure but in roadworks they seem to mean you drive at 10 mph less than the black number. :imp: :smiling_imp:

When my Wife first came over from Canada, she would go with me in the truck, but she kept asking what the sign with the picnic table with a line through it ment, it took me ages to realise it was ‘Motorway Ends’

I’ve heard that the numbers refer to the average time in minutes that a truck will take to overtake another on a dual-carriageway.

That can’t be right, I’ve seen some of those numbers as low as 20 and the average overtake must be way more than that.

bjd:
andy i certanly dont no every thingbut come on thats pretty basic stuf fella

So is English or do you use text and ghetto for everything.

Decent enough question really. If you don’t know or aren’t sure what is wrong with asking.

How about this question then. I move house do i have to send of my Digi Card to get change of address to, and if so what do i do about driving in the time i am without, because they can get [zb} if i am taking a holiday because of it. The answer is on the dvla site somewhere but i can’t be bot herd to look for it and asking is usually the easiest way out of a situation.

Ah I was after the answer to that question myself. You send the form off, its a free replacement and you turn up at the designated collection point and exchange your old card.

Yes but the designated places only work civil servant hours and are therefore useless to the real working man unless you take time off work. Well sod that

I wouldn’t actually know about that tbh  But I get days off in the week.
