Firstly I’ve heard mentioned on here drivers as Limpers, whats that ?

Bluetoothers, im guessing is mobile phone earpiece ?

Also on job adverts the following acronyms ref to licence.
Whats
DD, TT, DR, CD, IN. Endorsements

Lastly why do jobs say new passes drivers welcomed with 6 months to a year experience needed ?

Limpers = agency drivers

Bluetoothers = people who have a Bluetooth ear peace (most people think of agency drivers)

Endorsements:

DD: things like dangerous driving or death by dangerous driving or dangerous speed

TT: disqualified for having more than 12

DR: drink driving or drugs and driving

CD: careless driving and alike

IN: driving without insurance (I think)

new passers think… I have no idea but I have never seen one. might mean will consider new passers but would like the 6 months

Not sure why the adverts say that but it is possible to have both experience driving HGV’s and be newly passed, if for instance you did rigid work for a period of time before moving on to pass C&E.

Limpers I think are agency workers so called as most agency workers are reputed to have a limp.

I hope my plantar fasciitis (tender heal) clears up before I get my cat c, else I’ll have to steer clear of agencies for a while. I’m limping all over the place at the moment. :cry:

Only 21 threads on whole of trucknet using term (three are in this thread, four now) but none explain the origin. Probably some ■■■■ started it now it’s stuck.

(Someone, probably agency driver, has used the term perma-limper).

AFAIK, I coined the term “perma-limper”… and I’m not an agency driver, never have been, never will be.

Here is the official definition -

I thought the perma bit was a slight on permanent drivers. So limper is agency. Perma-limper is above.

Just need to find out now what a ■■■■ is.
