I see in the Scottish Transport New Derek Heeps of Bo-ness has taken delivery of the 1st Euro 6 XF FTG model of the Leyland production line …Obviously the back of the cab advertises the fact
any pics of it?
Their hardwork must have paid off as a few years ago one of the drivers said they were in trouble for working too hard.
Only pic s in Scottish transport news…
So there’s finally some liveried ones on the road then rather than the orange demo models that are knocking about

Luckily I take pride in my work ,and have a 99% success rate ,after all no one is perfect
Rumour is TOM are looking at Border Trucks ,but is only a rumour

There are some livered ones on the road …The XF as it is now called only comes in Euro 6 format ,so with Euro 6 looming you should see more on the road next year
But remember you had the cut off date to order Euro 5 motors in oct I think ,but you have to next oct to put them on the road. You may wonder who would store motors for a year before using them …I know a customer ,who bought motors in 06 and still hasn’t picked them up ,and he isn’t in any financial difficulty …He even has them sign written old school,no stickers…

Only kidding Norb. Ive heard DAF have meant to have sorted out their electrical woes with the new Euro 6.
Wouldn’t surprise me one bit. We’ve got a few trailers from a rental mob called Radmode. They went ■■■■ up recently and TOM has bought their entire fleet. They’re into everything now..They’re becoming the Arnold Clark of the truck world.
Was going to say heeps and his new heeps of ■■■■■ but damoq cut ma grass
That’s a bit harsh ,calling them Arnold Clark…TOM are opening a Merc franchise apparently as an entire shift at western handed their notice in …
Having seen the new loom ,which is fitted to the end of the euro 5motors ,it is promising ,the main impressive bit is how it is installed in the euro 6 XF…it just looks so much better and tidier and less likier to fail ,but time will tell, like anything new.
Having driven the new XF I was impressed ,I never even noticed the eco roll kick in ,it was seemless…Though it took a minute to realise he reason I couldn’t catch the truck in front was because the ACC was active
I still reckon IVECO have a jump on the others since they are still SCR only,a known product
Here’s a couple I sold.
Ahh but will the bumper rust within the month?

Really? 7 years ago! Blimey, does he also have a white ■■■■■ cat that he strokes in his leather chair & could he let us in on his plan for world ■■■■■■■■■■?
I know a company that has over 60 xfs parked up unregistered at the min, apparently a saving of 10f grand per unit compared to the new ones

Everything is galvanised so I doubt it.
who are “TOM” ?
sixaxles:
who are “TOM” ?
They are a rental company based in Airdrie who started off quite small but the are expanding at an alarming rate. They own Mercedes commercial dealers in Scotland and if Norb is correct, possibly they will be buying the Renault truck dealer Border Trucks and they have a lot of blue chip customers too.
