Seeing as I can’t quite justify a V8 tractor unit, and don’t run enough nose candy to make it pay, I’m looking at the DAF XF510 (2013).
Grateful for the thoughts of drivers and owners regarding technical issues, known faults, niggles etc…

Dont these have or have been known to in the past have turbo and adblue injection problems?
Up to you entirely and your choice but think over 500hp and Volvo FH13 or Scania v8 would be a better all round bet. But…you may just be a DAF fan… 
yep as stated turbo problems mine went after 550,000km on a 62 plate 3 grand bill , exhaust system warnings , relays , window mechanism , faults thrown up on dash then disappearing, if I was buying a truck I wouldn’t have one
wouldnt say no to either - but a similar age V8 is 20k more;and I need rear tag plus 9tn front axle- seem pretty rare just now!
Go for the daf , budget for a new turbo before using it .I think the 510 has an electric controlled turbo so maybe dearer than a 410/460 turbo
My boss brought a 61 plate 2 year ago that’s used by me only and we have had no problems at all with it lovely truck to drive and plenty of space in the cab now done just under 600,000 I wouldn’t want anything else now iv had one. Daz
