DAf XF speed question

Got the chance to Blast the wagon up & down North Weald airfield, how can i open it up just for this, want to see what it can do! just got a oneoff opportunity so would like to rag it round the airfield. NOTE: Will not be using it without limiter for normal running, Its a 55 Daf Xf 430

you got a tin hat at the ready for asking people on here how to run bent without actually asking the question :open_mouth:

got the chance to take it up the drag strip at north weald, just wanted to give it a go, as far as running bent is concerned dont need to, have a regular night trunk and no need to speed!, also tachos are checked monthly and overspeeds are questioned, Ie running downhill, Etc

Personally I would be very suprised if anyone actually posted on here how you go about doing what your trying to ask by going round the houses :exclamation: :open_mouth: more likely to get a PM as ADMIN will delete it faster than you can say Beverly Bell

The TNUK post posting fall out shelter is currently un-occupied and the dented tin hat is hanging up on the peg next to the steel door (one size fits all), just in case you need it :exclamation:     :grimacing: :grimacing:

Better get in the shelter then, flak jacket on and helmet ready

Tampering with the limiter can get you into trouble. think they are sealed so that only authorised tech people can open them. Its only for the track but over zealous plod or vosa man will never believe you when they take a look. best bet ask a tech to do it for you.

pull fuse 20.

limeyphil:
pull fuse 20.

pull fuse 20 and thats starts the detonation sequence for the thermonuclear device built into the truck - you then have 2 minutes to run as far away as possible… :open_mouth:   :grimacing: :grimacing: :grimacing:

Don’t run away. just put your foot down, and it’ll be the best bit of fun you could have before you die. Well, apart from having ■■■ with the wife and her three sisters.
Again.

Go for it, have a bit of fun, we did back in 88 I think it was, pulled a fuse on a merc 2033, got her up to 90, great fun, esp as it was on the M1…

Mind you, there must be quite a few out there inc one Mr Stobart, cos I was doing 55 in a rigid last night ,and Stobbie came past me doing an easy 60, along with a couple of the pallet boys…All having fun

Andy

No mate, A Wood and Sons, Detling… Was on the fruit in those days…
Had to run bobtail, with a car following. Used to love those Mercs bobtail, could burn most cars off away from the lights, esp the boy racers in thier XR3is

Pulling the fuse is no good generally as sometimes it has a opposite effect and just shuts the bugger down. The best bet is to try the speaker magnet on the gearbox sender unit. I have never tried these myself but i did overhear a couple of paddies discussing the various merits one night.

Contact DAF ,they will tell you what the truck will do without the limiter.I would be surprised if it did anymore than 75-80mph without a trailer (i always found 25 tonne of coal on the back worked wonders)The trouble is when reaching those kind of speeds trucks take some stopping!!

Throw the magnet on it. Just look for the sensor on gearbox with the wire seal.

i think you should change your name to “un”.unbelievable!
