Are there any DAF XF drivers that could help me in designing a new cabin interior for a University project. Any comments about what you find good or bad about the interior of your DAF XF would help greatly. Cheers[/b]

No, there are quite a few differences. In fact, IMHO the CF dash layour is better than the XF. Shame they didn’t put a wider version of the CF dash in the XF.
swcrawford, IMHO, if you are using the XF dash as a base, it needs to be more like the CF dash.
1 Wider flatter top area, with slightly raise sides, well front and side, not necessarily, the edge closest to you.
2 Needs a wider, deeper, sturdier table that pulls out from the top.
3 Needs more and better placed air vents - see CF dash
4 12V and 24V sockets as standard
5 Radio position could do with raising a little and don’t use VDO radios
6 The cubby hole below the Radio could do with enlarging
7 Cup holders ala CF on the bottom tray.
personally i’d make it alot flatter and simpler, more like the old erf ‘e’ series, - i’m not a fan of the curved fancy dashboards.
something i would like to see is things made simpler, i was driving a 58 merc actros yesterday and couldn’t make out what alot of the buttons did - didn’t help that the company took the hand books out so when i tried to investigate on my break i couldn’t

Well that is what i always thought i was ready to get myself a new one if mine came with one, and it did i was gutted, but then i switched it on and fiddled with it and i have to say it is one of the best in the fleet the sound is amazing, however the new ones have gone back to the normal vdo standard we are use to
the dash board in the daf is OK has it is but there is someings thing i would change in the cab.
(1) i would like to see the 1hr button like there had on the Volvo
(2) i would like to see a 12v and a 24v plugs in stead of the two 24v ones
(3) i would like to be able to put all of the bed up to the roof
XF’s could also do with one piece side windows, instead of the bar and fixed quarter light. Could also do with, a bank of switches, for side windows, roof hatch, radio, night heater, and interior lights in the middle of the back wall, so they can easily be reached whatever side of the bed you might sleep. Double glazing, for added insulation - sound, heat, cold. Electric mirror adjustment switches for all mirrors, including the kerb. In built Sat TV would be good.
Recaro seat with armrests on both, and both sides too…Swivel passenger seat, might be an idea. Pull out drawer, that sits under the bunk, for easy to get to oddments. Roof top mounted, air con that works with the engine off for those hot, steamy nights and days come to think of it. A computer readout on the dash instruments that calculates all you driving hours and gives you a constant readout of what you’ve done and have got left.
That’ll do for now I think.
Dafmad snap out of it man your talking like a driver you dont think DAF will listen to drivers, i dont understand why they have removed the night heater switch from off the back wall and just left the Thermostat control there, and i agree with a swivel chair that would be brilliant but it wont happen, and in my 105 even the curtains are rubbishno lining on them so looking for a day driver that drives one and i will pay him to swap curtains
