as daft as it may sound, but was you parked on a slope on the first day?
if i park on the industrial estate at the back of my house, it slopes downhill and the level on the gauge shows it lower than if i park in the yard where it is flat

OK, so I’ve ended up switching trucks from that ball of scrap to another 05 XF 430 Space Cab.
The Diesel gauge is a bit iffy and keeps dropping as you’re driving along. It can be a pain in the arse after a while of the diesel light blinking at me. Is there a common fault here that can easily be fixed or does anyone know whats causing it?
Also, the passenger seat cushion is a lot more ‘cushier’ than the drivers seat one, for obvious reasons. Is there an easy way of switching the bottom cushions on the two seats?

the fuel gauge problem is more than likely being caused by a faulty sender unit in the tank, get the sender unit replaced and it will cure it
as for the seat, they are simple to replace/swap, get a large flat blade screwdriver, under the front edge of the seat base is an adjuster lever, pull up the lever, push the screwdriver between the lever and the fixed frame of the seat and force the lever up over the small locking pins (if you look under the lever, you will see what i mean), so, in effect, you are lifting the lever higher than it normally goes, as you are doing this, pull the seat base forwards and it will come away, there is a strip of cloth connecting the base to the back of the seat, this is a velcro fastening, there is also a plug for the electric heated element, just unplug it
when you come to put the base back in, plug in the leccy for the heated seat, the hardest part is lining up the 4 locating pins under the base, this is a real PITA
Crap!
The seat in the passenger side of the truck is a baseline one. No air controls, heater or slide out adjustment on it. Don’t think its changeable now.

how strange, i thought they were all air suspended in the XF95
Last XF I had was the same with an air seat on the passenger side. She was a standard cab. This one is a space cab and it has a bog standard seat on the passenger seat. Strange really. I thought it would have been the other way around. Unless someone has swapped the seat before, cos the loom for the seat heater is under it.
Oh well…

Easy way to fix blinking fuel gauge light bit of black tape over it
Same goes for the main beam light which dazzles you more than any oncoming drivers when on full beam
the fuse box is on the left, much easier to get to than a scania. i think it’s fuse number 22 for the tacho.
to put the wire on, you will need the blue wire, 3rd block down. this is under the bonnet behind the fuses.
but if you want to use a magnet, you can.
carry a spare air dryer filter.

the old DAF’s used to be great, they used to paint the fuse so that you knew which one it was
