DAF LF250 - intermittent multi-failure warnings

Hi folks,

64 Reg DAF LF250 beavertail plant truck. 160,000 miles on the clock.

Our one and only 18 tonne truck died on us yesterday, showing multiple failure warnings which now show every time you turn the key. We had this a few months ago and took it to a DAF specialist (ex-main dealer), who couldnt find the source of the problem. While he was going through the test process, checking for faulty connectors, wiring breaks etc, it fixed itself. Since then its been running fine until yesterday when it died and hasnt moved since.

Currently every time you turn the key it’s showing:

Engine Malfunction (Red)
Configuration Error (Red)
Transmission Malfunction (yellow)
Engine Malfunction (yellow)

Also the adblue gauge shows empty although the tank is full.

A couple of years ago, it started showing “Transmission Failure” which would flash up for a split second and go again, and only while the truck was stationary with the ignition on. This was only occasionally and stopped happening of its own accord.

It may be coincidence, but it always seems to be during wet weather, but its been pouring down for weeks now and didn’t miss a beat until yesterday.

Has anyone seen this before or knows the most likely source of the problem? Clutching at straws here.

Thanks.
