DAF CF85 CB setup

I have a 59 DAF cf and on the back of the cab is a silver disc where a CB arial can be fixed. Does anybody know if there will be any coax cable behind the silver disc when I open it all up?

If not then I might fix my arial to the air-kit (wind deflector?) via a clamp which will fit onto the flatbar/strap that holds the airkit. What clamp would be best to fit onto said bar?

There should be coax behind the disc thing. It should be wired all the way to the empty DIN slot beside the tacho with the PL connector already there too. I found that putting your CB ariel on the DAF mount was not that good TBH. Alot of people say that you are just better with a mag mount and I have to agree.

The standard issue Daf antennae is tough but range is utter crap. I don’t think the mount will take the strain of for example, a stinger. Once someone goes by in the opposite direction, I lose them in a mile or so. Some of ours have the mount on the roof which tend to be better.

Cheers lads. I have a super space cab so it has a fibre glass roof so a magmount on top is a no go.
I Think I might have a go at getting a large mirror mount clamp and fixing the arial onto the airkit braket so the arial will be as high as possible.

I thought they had metal roofs

hmmm I will confirm it tommorow but im sure the “extended” part of the roof is fibre!
