Hi All.Just looking for abit of assistance.ive got a 2008 daf cf 8x4 cement mixer it has a 8 speed zf manual gearbox in.My problem is that it is stuck in gear and the gear lever is solid and won’t move.Not sure if the problem is in the box or in the turret.i think it has a mechatronic valve on rear of top cover.Any help will be greatly appreciated.
You need new syncros ,the selector sleeve has went over centre due to wear ,the detents pop out and you can’t then pull it back in to neutral ,also the bulk ring may have broken up,again allowing it to go over centre …Generally it is 3rd gear but not always…Not a difficult job ,gear boxes are generally easier than engines to do…
We had an old Renault and the cab suspension was leaking air. As the can would lower it would pull the gear lever back into gear. As the truck recognised it as being in gear it disable the starter so you couldn’t build the air up as it wouldn’t start.
Not sure if DAFs have the same flaw.
