A right royal pain in the Harris
We have multipull drivers on these trucks and when you come to one of these first day of shift and you get no data from the computer you can’t start the truck.
We are not allowed to tilt the cab( health and safety bullfrog) so you have to ring a fitter to come and dip it which can take upto an hour for them to turn up,although this week when it happened to me I rang traffic office told tm Its my first day on shift and i have no engine oil reading and a large oil leak from rear diff…his answer crack on it will be ok
Lucky for him I got a reading after my 45 break and there was oil in but the diff I’m just waiting for it to explode
the new modern DAF have an electronic dipstick that is checked via the key in the ignition in the DIP if you want to check it yourself or you missed the graphic in the morning press the little knob on the left go into maintainence & check oil level
if you want to do it old school with a rag and stick its a cab up job on engines upto euro 5 aint seen the euro 6 varients yet so im not 100% on them
